So it's a tight game, with White dominant but finding every possible means of butchering scoring opportunities. Blue have been outplayed, but a combination of plucky, resolute defence and their oppo's incompetence means they are only marginally behind in the closing seconds.

White attack again. Blue defend well, dislodging the ball from White attacker's hands - knock on. White player, ahead of the ball, clearly knows he's offside and is reluctant to play it; but as Blue approaches, he picks it up.

What is the decision? Game over, white win? Or PK to Blue?

Has to be a PK. In any other minute of the game you'd be giving a Pen, unless it was clearly "accidental". He knows he's offside, yet still plays it. PK.

Dixie knows that only too well. Something is afoot. White? Blue? Not a Calcutta Cup conundrum perhaps?

PK but agree with Dickie E, Dixie is up to something.

Referee called White accidental offside - scrum

Dixie not happy camper - wants to string referee out by testicles so resorts to forum site to see if he's ok to do so!

Dammit, you guys know me too well!

Watch the last 20 seconds of the Calcutta Cup. Romain Poite ended the game on this incident. Nothing rested on it, as England were more than a score ahead - but an International was ended by ignoring a penalty offence.

Actually, Dixie, a lot rested on this decision.. Next week the 6 nations will be decided on points difference. Who is to say that seven points lost or won by England might not be all there is in it .

why would it be anything but what the white player already believes to be the case?

PK.
