Grounding the ball

Stupid question so be patient with me :)
We know you can't play the ball on the ground in Rugby. However, if you are lieing on the ground in the in goal area after a tackle or say falling from a maul or ruck and the ball ends up beside you - Is it ok to ground it?

Yes.

In-goal is special in many ways, and this is one of them.
