  • Welcome to the new RugbyRefs.com site

Well I'm glad to say we have re-opened on time.

For those that don't have the time to run through all the new toys on the site let me tell you about some of the improvements that are available straight away, and some of those that will be ready in the very near future.
    1. We have a new cool logo in use.
    2. Facebook integration is here. You can post from Rugbyrefs.com to facebook and vice-versa, how much you let it integrate is up to you.
    3. Liking of threads - which if you are connected to Facebook will show up in your Facebook profile (you don't need to integrate to use it).
    4. Video embedding is now capable, no more linking to youtube for video analysis of controversial decisions.
    5. Blogging - Do you want to write a blog about something, you can do so here.
    6. Articles - We will be able to quickly move posts of relevance from the forums to a news article in a couple of clicks.
    7. Forums improvement - The use of the forums is smoother than before.
    8. Article creation - got something to say, you can use our site to say it, Any member can create and article. All articles will be screened by our admins first, but providing it's not dodgy (i.e. get us sued) we'll be ok with it.
    9. World Clock - It's better than others, click a timezone and drag the time to anywhere on the map, it'll stay there, you can now easily see what time it is elsewhere without any hassles.
So what else is to come?
    1. In the very near future you will see the old blue and red themes brought up to date with the new logo.
    2. The ability to like & dislike peoples posts (not linked to Facebook), giving members the ability to agree and disagree with users without having to post.
    3. Tournament capability for tipping/predicting rugby games and allowing us all to see who knows what.
    4. Mobile integration - Use Rugbyrefs.com from your mobile phone with a better display.
We hope you like the new site and we would welcome any feedback that you wish to give, positive or negative. We want the site to reflect the grassroots game from a referees perspective as much as the professional game, 95% of our members are grassroot referees.

As before our goal remains the same, global consistency through grassroots referees - It's not impossible!

I've noticed this a lot in recent weeks, not sure why it's becoming more common? Ball carrier is tackled, tackler and ball carrier on the floor. Now either the ball carrier or the first arriving support player (ball carriers side) holds the tackler in? Now of course i know they're trying to...

Thirty seconds in, Ben Youngs finds himself on the floor behind a ruck, ball squirts out and, from the ground he kicks it to Farrell Should be a PK surely .. 13.3 It's taking a while for the implications of this Law to sink in
