  • Congratulations New Zealand

Not just on winning the cup so sought after so hard for the last 24 years, but for staging an excellent Rugby World Cup.

This congratulations doesn't just go to the players, but to the whole nation.

During my time in New Zealand (Invercargill, Queenstown, Dunedin, Wellington & Auckland) I have met and enjoyed the company of so many people, all have been welcoming, all have enjoyed the spirit that the Rugby World Cup brought to the nation, and all have left a lasting impression that will stay with me for the rest of my life. I know that other visitors have felt the same too.

I was pleased to see France push the All Blacks, no one wanted to see a one side game. And to be fair France was the better team in the final, they finally turned up, however the All Blacks did everything they needed to do, and scrapped the win.

The game itself was one of the most intense games I have ever seen, the pressure on both teams, and the officials must have been huge.

And finally, to the iRB, do not fine France for walking forward at the Haka, all they did was stand up to it, they did not confront, the accepted the challenge, and even Richie MaCaw appreciated the gesture.

Once again, Thank you New Zealand, See you in four years in England.

Kick from 22, when is it inside

    Thread Starter: belladonna

If the kicker is running forward towards their own 22 (when not taken back in) and kicks to touch, where is the boundary between being "in" and "out" of the 22? Say one foot is still in the 22 and the ball is directly above the line when it's kicked, that's in, right? At what point is it "out" -...

Hi, first post here. Jus returned to reffing after a 10 year hiatus and need some guidance. Today I reffed an Under 14 game their first game of the season so trying to be as generous in spirit as the laws would allow. Red set up a maul. The red ball carrier goes to ground and made the ball...

    U14 uncontested lineout

    Thread Starter: davsas

Ok, so u14 have uncontested line outs, meaning the opposition cannot compete, but the hooker of the throwing team throws the ball in not straight. Do you penalise as the other team cannot go for it anyway? i didn't and allowed them to play on, as it had no bearing on the flow of the play or...

Thanks very much for the add. I'm after clarification on an incident that happened at a game I attended last Saturday.I posted this question on a rugby forum and received one reply from South Africa saying that both the referee and refereeing assessor were wrong in the account I gave below. I...
