    [Law] Re: Placer Question

So you blow full time. 20 minutes later everyone's either having a beer or a shower. Light bulb moment for the ref: "the wrong bloke held the ball!". Everyone back on the field for a re-kick?

    [Law] Re: Placer Question

I offered it as an anology FFS.

Here's another one. No opponent in the tram tracks for a lineout. Nobody notices (inc me). I'm not gonna blow. Quick chat at next lineout.

    [Law] Re: Placer Question

Yes of course but if he does change it and I don't notice it, then I'm not going penalise him. I'd have a word on the run or at next scrum.

    [Law] Re: Placer Question

play on for me. My bad, I should have managed it.

Similar. SH sets to feed the ball on one side of a scrum then moves to the other side. If I "forget" that he can't do that I'm not going to ping...

    [Scrum] Re: Scrum PK

he's pinged Blue for bailing out of the scrum by standing up (ie not pushing straight). That's the accepted signal for that event.

    Re: Tackle change

Indeed but an analogy is driving in the city vs driving in the country. In the city, you may expect more collisions by virtue of the number of cars on the road. However, an accident driving at higher...

Below is the preamble to the law changes. The bold bit talks about "greater space" leading to "better player welfare outcomes." How can that be anything other than the tackle? (unless its a mental...

    Re: Tackle change

TC, we will see this at the end of Aug in NRC. I assume oppos will need to be 10 metres and the kick will need to go 10 metres. But who knows?

What if the kick doesn't go 10 and is played by an...

    Re: Tackle change

when I read the rationale for this it was (IIRC) all about reducing concussions for the tackler (presumably less tacklers = less concussions).

But less tacklers = less 2 man tacklers = more 1 man...

    Re: Samoa v USA

I disagree. The situation (as far as I can make out) is Blue player hangs his foot in the air and White player passes the ball into it.

But probably time for this merry-go-round to call it a day.

Re: 2 new laws for NRC at the end of August

good question. Also, how far does it need to be kicked? How far back do the opposition need to stand? Is it same restart if defender held up in goal?
