    [Law] Re: Unsporting Conduct Question.

There's an assumption here that it was the crowd noise that led to the rekick - it may have been something else like an early charge and the referee acted coincidentally to curtail abusive language...

    Re: U12 regs and jackling

It's allowed in Wales from U10 upwards:

"After the tackle one player from each team can contest for the ball, this can be any player involved in the tackle or another arriving player"

    I reffed...

    [Law] Re: "Knock-on"

My club (celebrating 150th anniversary) is playing a return vets match against another (celebrating 125th anniversary) in November - I played in the first "leg" back in february.

    For a fleeting...

No drama at all -- the only stupid question is the one that doesn't get asked.

    [Maul] Re: uncontested maul

Yes I know what the law says it is the interpretaion - if blue form their side of a maul on the line of touch has the ball carrier left the lineout?

    [Maul] Re: uncontested maul

Got me wondering when the lineout ends in this scenario too. It may not be open play.

[Law] Re: Hand Off or Fend to the face/head/neck

I think there'a a chance May will get cited on the basis of forearm leading.

Similarly the late incident with white 5 which resulted in a yellow card.

    Nigel Owens immediately made the...

Re: When is the ball out?

Get the World Rugby laws app - touch laws have changed quite significantly recently.

    [Maul] Re: uncontested maul

It's not a maul so open play - either play on or penalty for obstruction depending on the specific situation.

Re: Where are you this weekend - 2019-20

We've just put our availability in. I have a youth pre season friendly at my own club to sharpen the brain (and legs) ready for 7 Sept.

My ambition for the season is to AR for Marc W :)

[INTERNATIONAL] Re: Kurtley beale - lucky to stay on the field?

It was red for Scott all day long according to the flowchart. Very astutely picked by the referee.

Kurtley's also appears to b a deliberate cheap shot shoulder charge to the neck area after the...

Neither England or Wales as far as I can see - certainly nothing was mentioned at the recent Dragons/Blues regions refs conference.

    [Ruck] Re: Jackaling

Exactly as Arabchief says - although I'd add a couple of things. I am a newish ref but played lock or 6 for 25+ years so have a good idea of what the law says and also what players generally get...

Re: 2 new laws for NRC at the end of August

Its a good question - if it's going to be the same as a 22 then there's no great advantage over a 5m scrum - and at least with that we have the forwards bound in and space created.

Re: 2 new laws for NRC at the end of August

I like the goal line drop out for held-up. It might lead to some interesting aerial battles but I guess will mainly go to touch as infield kicks will see the full oppo 15 quickly on the attack.

Penalty only but borderline yellow card for me, but that's with the benefit of seeing this clip several times now. Reffing in real time on my own? Don't honestly know! :)
