[Line out] Re: Non engagement at Line Out

In the same way that you give a FK for an early engage at the scrum...but if they do it again, it's a PK. There has to be an escalation process or they might be happy to give away FK's all day long.

    Re: Diving to score

You see this all the time at the top level, especially so in the corners where they dive high and come in almost head down to avoid putting a foot into touch.

Coach needs speaking to about game...

[Line out] Re: Non engagement at Line Out

1st time scrum for accidental offside.
If they don't learn and do it again I am going to give a PK.
  6. Re: Where the 2018 Law Book is actually different from 2017

    And what was the result?
  7. Re: Where the 2018 Law Book is actually different from 2017

Hands up any ref who allowed a lineout after time, when a PK was kicked INdirectly into touch, from the introduction of the 2017 law trials to present day?
  8. Re: Where the 2018 Law Book is actually different from 2017

The penalty kick is allowed after full time, so if the ball goes out on the full then play effectively restarts from the lineout.

If the ball bounces in the field of play, then play has...

Re: 2018 Focus Areas - full version

It looks like London have added their own clarifications to the official slides.

However a couple of them contradict each other.

Level with the ball or daylight between? It can't be...

I can see it being useful on artificial surfaces, but not at 8 a tin.
Im guessing that shaving foam wont disappear like the spray does, and if it rains !!!!!!!!

    Re: Replacement or Substitute

Not according to the 2018 law book.

You can be replaced for injury OR tactically replaced. The word Substitute is not in the new law book, not even in the definitions.

    PERMANENT REPLACEMENT...
  13. [In-goal] Re: Defender knocks kick back into his own touch-in-goal. How to restart ?

If the penalty was a kick at goal that goes wide into touch-in-goal, then yes its a dropout.

If it's a penalty kick (not a shot at goal) that goes through in-goal then there is an option of a...

I'm about 20 minutes down the road if you have time to meet for a beer in Stratford?
  16. [In-goal] Re: Defender knocks kick back into his own touch-in-goal. How to restart ?

Law 18.1 simply states when the ball is in touch or touch-in-goal. It doesn't give a sanction, or mention anywhere that a lineout results.

The law definitions differentiate between touch and...

    Re: Replacement or Substitute

I don't think so. If anything it makes it simpler as no one apart from referees really understood the difference.
  18. [In-goal] Re: Defender knocks kick back into his own touch-in-goal. How to restart ?

Ball played into in-goal and made dead (doesn't matter how it was made dead).
    Attacking scrum 5 and 5.

    Re: Stratford-Upon-Avon

Well Stratford is much nicer than Redditch.
Half hour to an hours drive depending on time of day and traffic.

I know the pub but never stayed there. It's right in the middle of town.

In all the video examples there is no one on their feet, I believe this is the key. The ball is effectively in the open begging to be picked up.

In this context exposed means the ball has no one over it, or the ball has left the ruck confines.
