    [RWC] Re: Beast tip tackle!

Got a link? I would be interested to know what SANZAR judiciary said. I'd be surprised if they saw it as as per OB's comment; I wouldn't be surprised if they thought it a fair attempt at a tackle.

    [RWC] Re: Beast tip tackle!

? Not remotely what OB is saying, I think

Would be tackler does not drive through - doesn't get hold of the ball carrier to drive.

I couldn't tell from the clip why the YC was given. I wouldn't...

[RWC] Re: How are the RWC refs doing so far ?

He said he was offside but the replay didn't show that. Todd didn't attempt a tackle but that wasn't what Owens penalised.

    [Law] Re: PK and time

don't know but Garces was clear before time was up that they would restart.

Maybe the clock should have been stopped earlier, idk

Re: Jap v Sco - No Red Card?!?

I think you got his thought process right. But in current context and with the framework, is it really an accident? Does that even matter?

Gray was arguably reckless i.e. these players know the...

Re: RWC Wales v Fiji penalty try

Marc, the law 16 says intentionally collapsing a maul is a penalty; also says a maul ends unsuccessfully if collapsed not as a result of foul play, which leads to the conclusion intentionally...

    I missed the NZ one.

RWC Wales v Fiji penalty try

Around 54mins, Fiji are awarded a penalty try.

8.3 A penalty try is awarded between the goal posts if foul play by the opposing team prevents a probable try from being scored, or scored in a more...

[Ruck] Re: Where is the offside line for Red ?

Where's the offside line for green? And in relation to green 9?

Was that a TWOL? Or ruck? And if only a tackle were green not pinged for going off their feet? 3 of them.

Re: Hooper on Biggar - Why No Card?

Potentially a shoulder charge. Left arm appears to do nothing - need to see an angle from behind Kerevi to confirm. Right arm also does nothing. As I said, he leads with his shoulder, and that...

    Re: Rugby is officially dead

you've seen off 9.12 and 9.24, now what about 9.11 (Flish gave earlier).

9.11 Players must not do anything that is reckless or dangerous to others.

A bit straw-clutching for me but if the ref...

Re: Hooper on Biggar - Why No Card?

    Around 27 mins game time.

Bad tackle technique - put his head in front of Kerevi and got himself a head injury. His leading body part is his shoulder.

    Re: Rugby is officially dead

Not really, held his forearm against his own chest until contact with the tackler, then pushed away.

What law do you think he infringed?

    Re: Rugby is officially dead

He's the ball carrier pushing, not striking, a would be tackler away.

Penalty against Gold 12 ball carrier for pushing away the Red tackler?
scratching my head wondering what law was infringed. Seem to have an enthusiastic TMO in this game.

    Re: latching

You could have pointed to tackle law 15.7(b) in 2017, but that has gone, and no one did anyway, as didds says.

  22. [Tackle] Re: Wales v All Blacks U20 - how is this not a red card?

So it's the victims fault in some eyes?

The ball catcher's actions look like 'bracing for impact' to me - entirely understandable in the circumstances. It is unreasonable to expect the ball...

    [Law] Re: Offside support players

Green 5 so far offside he wasn't in the picture for a while!

No way he would have been in a position to receive that ball if he hadn't jogged forward whilst 10m offside so yeah , material.

    Re: Lineout quiz

Crossref, in the this case the Definitions in the lawbook are clear (separate for Lineout players and Participating players), I think, and does make the distinction. Usage is consistent with 18.29.
