    Re: offside from rip?

Accepted (and well pointed out ;-) , but "A player is offside in open play if ...that player is in front of a team-mate who is carrying the ball or who last played it." So, as per Crossrefs #4. ...

  4. [Scrum] Re: Last Scrum and Tries Games RWC2019 Wales-France

It would take a much braver man than I to penalize/FK a squint feed for the first time in a match, to a team 6 points up, on their 5m line with 5 mins left on the clock.. :)
  5. [Scrum] Re: Last Scrum and Tries Games RWC2019 Wales-France

R21 is probably offside (momentarily) when he takes a large stride to his right and gets at least one foot in front of the ball.

But B7 (playing No8) changes his bind once the ball in, to go...

[Tackle] Re: Hand off contacts with throat

I think it is a worthy question and could be deemed dangerous play. Maybe one of those 'you'll know it when you see it" calls?

    [Law] Re: Law Quiz

I had it this season (L10) where a huge 2nd row was charging down a small 10, who stopped his run dead, had wide rabbit eyes as it was clear he didn't have a clue what as happening. I have to admit...

Barnsey mentioned the forward past thing in the podcast that was mentioned on here a few weeks ago referring to referee-TMO interactions.

Re: IRE v FRA: to card or not to card?

I thought the ref got it correct, as well. The French player got up off the ground - actually looking a little groggy - and started wandering back towards his off side line. After maybe only a...

Poll: [Ruck] Re: Is the ball out?

I am not sure why "out" matters when there is a tacked player on the ground and no-one over him.

Poll: [Ruck] Re: Is the ball out?
