[6N] Re: Eddie takes a pop at Nigel

Indeed. "Coach lines up his excuses ready". Nothing to see here.
  2. [CLUB RUGBY] Re: Saracens breaching salary cap, yet again.

So you have decided the outcome of the investigation before it is completed. So much for due process. The word INVESTIGATING is important here.

Re: Bound in but not bound (Maul)

"Player bound in and then swimming through the maul" was the comment.

I agree with your comment about swinmming around the maul.

Re: Bound in but not bound (Maul)

Thanks folks. I was pulled up by my assessor over that on Saturday. He accepted the player was bound in but said he could not "swim through"

Bound in but not bound (Maul)

Maul is formed and a Yellow player is bound into the maul but both hands are free and above the bodies. He tries to compete for the ball managing to "swim" through the middle of the maul. He does not...

Re: Where are you this weekend - 2019-20

Ame went well with top marks for scrum management. A few minus points, including getting too close to the breakdown (got in the way and took a dive into the mud at one point). A more than acceptable...

[Law] Re: Place of Conversion kick

It has to stay withing the touchlines. So no consistency issue really.

  9. [CLUB RUGBY] Re: Saracens breaching salary cap, yet again.

    It's not rocket science really.
  10. [CLUB RUGBY] Re: Saracens breaching salary cap, yet again.

Back to the story. I hope Saracens are dealt with on the facts by people who have all the facts at hand to make a fair call.

That said I'm not sure what relegation will achieve. Other than...

Re: Where are you this weekend - 2019-20

Friendly in Mountain Ash tomorrow. Coming after two youth games that were both excellent. Second one a 7-7 draw in the mud. The away team going through.
  12. [CLUB RUGBY] Re: Saracens breaching salary cap, yet again.

I assume you have some facts to back your claims up.

Funny how you turn YOUR thread about Saracens into a moan about Munster being cheated out of the cup.

    "Saracens blah" Racing cheated Munster...
  13. [Golden Oldies] Re: Reports on Referee post-game on WhosTheRef

    NO, NO and THRICE NO!

Coaches do not enter the changing room to discuss the game.
"Give me time to shower and I'll chat in the clubhouse / or wherever". Here each club is required to have a...

    Re: advantage story

    That's always worked for me.
  16. [Golden Oldies] Re: Reports on Referee post-game on WhosTheRef

    That's why I posted

"Clarifications" covers a multitude of possibilities. If he wants to bring up the last game, His call. If He has an issue that last week's ref did so be it.
  17. [Golden Oldies] Re: Reports on Referee post-game on WhosTheRef

In all probability he will say: "No issues!". Or something banal like: "Can you watch their scrum pushing early". As he actually has nothing to say really.
  18. [Golden Oldies] Re: Reports on Referee post-game on WhosTheRef

I'd go on the front foot. When confirming the appointment I ask the Fixture sec to let the coach know my mobile number (it's published on the officials list the clubs have anyway) so he can contact...
  19. Re: Club refs, in England, are they covered?

Of course that allows wriggle of what is defined as a "referee". Schools and University teaching staff would be covered by their proffesional qualifications to act and instructors and referees.

  20. [Golden Oldies] Re: Reports on Referee post-game on WhosTheRef

Aber, a lovely town. I'd not have reffed you back then. So you dodged a bullet. The Uni plays most of its games in Cardiff and the surrounding unis these days because Aber is such a treck for other...
  21. [Golden Oldies] Re: Reports on Referee post-game on WhosTheRef

Vovonne, Which Uni were you in? I might have reffed you.

On the topic. Losing sides tend to moan winning sides tend to praise. Just as when a player, be your own sternest critic. Also don't...

[Scrum] Re: 5m Scrum Penalty and Penalty try

Card and card again etc. A 3 or 4 man advantage should see a try for the backs!

Leaving aside the other issues. Theses two points are not the sME.

[Scrum] Re: 5m Scrum Penalty and Penalty try

Did the collapse prevent a "probably try"? Is the criteria for all penalty tries. 5 metre scrums do not change that.
