  1. [6N] Re: 6 Nations launch event - questions for coaches/captains

I'll be sure to ask them all to start reciting the player charter accordingly! ;-)
  2. [6N] Re: 6 Nations launch event - questions for coaches/captains

They would - quite rightly to me - ask why if it's in the laws [and its been there for years], the referees dont referee it. If referees blew to the letter of that law, then it wouldnt be an issue. ...
  3. [6N] Re: 6 Nations launch event - questions for coaches/captains

@Crossref - re: Centipede. I guess theyd lob that back at us referees! If it's not illegal, there's no way to get rid of it. If they want to get rid of it, the law needs changing!
  4. [6N] Re: 6 Nations launch event - questions for coaches/captains

    What's the question?

    - - - Updated - - -

@L'irlandais - The referees wont be there. It's just the coaches and captains of the 6Ns competitions
  5. [6N] Re: 6 Nations launch event - questions for coaches/captains

Erm.. let me wonder how I can ask that without being lynched... ;-)

    [Law] Re: After final whistle

Oh, don't get me wrong, it's absolutely not the referees fault, I was just offering a thought to forsee the problem and try and maintain control when others may be losing theirs.

    I had a really...
  7. [6N] 6 Nations launch event - questions for coaches/captains

Hi everyone - am going to the media launch of the 6 Nations tomorrow and will have a chance to ask qs of the captains and coaches of the mens and womens teams in the two competitions.

    [Law] Re: After final whistle

Agree with wider points above about cards after the whistle - a sort of pointless act and out of law. There's a wider refereeing management point to be made here.

This is potentially a problem of...

[Line out] Re: Lineout thoughts ...

I was trying to figure out why youd do that with the posts there. Guess it give hooker a marginally smaller "straight" gap to get it into, and the height issue with teh cross bar.

    As per above,...

Re: New Law - lifting in open play

It's in response to the Isreal Falou v Peter O'Mahony yellow card in the AUs v Ire test in the summer when CJ Stander chucked O'Mahony up but let him go. That slight nudge from the Wallaby led him to...

WR have given formal green light for the 12 law variations we've all been playing under last/this season, to be adopted into the law book proper.

So, for what it's worth. My personal opinion. People are quoting 11.3. This is in a section titled Knock on. To read this section, you need to first read the definition of a knock...

    Re: Deliberate knock ons

That's not a positive action or attempt to gain posession so, in my view, they get what's coming. If you can stick your arm out to block the path of a pass, you can stick your hand out to try and...

With one exception via email, no suggestions from anyone on potential interview guests from your part of the world. Anyone spring to mind?

[Scrum] Re: New scrum law- no signal from the referee?

But the law book also doesn't mandate players or officials to breathe in or out! Yet we allow it.

Now the mandatory command has gone away, we revert to managing the put in in a different way....

[Scrum] Re: New scrum law- no signal from the referee?

In reality, we'll prob end up going back to the way we did it up to a few years back, by setting the scrum by standing in the tunnel, ensuring it was stable, and then stepping back/off to the side...
