    Re: airbourne and dangerous

I think I'm in the world of - it worked so you're ok but if it went wrong I'd be penalising the Harlequins player. I wouldn't be surprised to see it given against Sale in those cases though...

Re: Where are you this weekend? 2018/19

Had a Level 9 game - Didsbury Toc H 2 v Widnes 2 yesterday. Was brilliant and loved it. Got an assessor report to say I'm ready to go up again... whether that'll happen remains to be seen...

    Then...

Re: Where are you this weekend? 2018/19

I'm at Broughton Park 3rds v Heaton Moore 2s on Saturday and then Fleetwood Colts vs Somebody on the Sunday...

Tbh I've had next to no pre-season having had to prep for my grad scheme and also...
  4. Re: What the f*** is happening with Lancashire's Leagues

Another meeting is happening tonight at a hotel in Lancaster RE fixtures.

NOWIRUL stuff is going to do fixtures without the RFU leagues being known if things aren't sorted by the 1st of August
  5. Re: What the f*** is happening with Lancashire's Leagues

    Kirkby Lonsdale and Kendal 2s?
  6. Re: What the f*** is happening with Lancashire's Leagues

What do you think the appeal will actually be?

My personal view is that each county needs it's own league structure up to North One West, at which point 3 teams get relegated and put into the...
  7. Re: What the f*** is happening with Lancashire's Leagues

    Fixtures would be good...
  8. Re: What the f*** is happening with Lancashire's Leagues

NOWIRUL has seen several clubs ready to go back into the RFU leagues (at Level 9) end up staying and getting promoted into Division 2 this year. Chorley and Colne and Nelson appeared to have been...
  9. Re: What the f*** is happening with Lancashire's Leagues

I understand Cheshire are now pushing proposals through to have the remaining Lancashire clubs and the Cheshire clubs in one league structure down to Level 9, with Cumbria to go out on their own.
    ...
  10. Re: What the f*** is happening with Lancashire's Leagues

So reading more into this - they have 2 leagues of 10 set-up (think a few of the smaller clubs realised they were getting shafted), meanwhile the lower league setup of the RFU north leagues looks uh...
  11. Re: What the f*** is happening with Lancashire's Leagues

I imagine KL 3rds would heavily struggle in that Level 9 league - I'd also argue that they seem happy and settled in Division 5 North of the Merit Leagues and perhaps don't need to be removed....
  12. Re: What the f*** is happening with Lancashire's Leagues

This continues to be rumbling on. It sounds like some form of peace offering has been made towards the club and clubs are 'rumbling' at present.

Could we see the league adopted into the structure?...
  13. Re: What the f*** is happening with Lancashire's Leagues

Just done some digging on our website: http://www.madrefs.co.uk/downloads/866%20MDRURS%20Appointments%20Policy%20(September%202013).pdf

I imagine they'll be treated as they were before...
  14. Re: What the f*** is happening with Lancashire's Leagues

I think the problem is that the Isle of Man once a season - fully funded by the RFU is reasonable - and creates a mini-tour. Cumbria 5-6 times a season becomes a real challenge.

    What needs to...
  15. Re: What the f*** is happening with Lancashire's Leagues

St Benedicts had like 7 matches to play with 3 league weekends to go so the Committee approached them to ask if they would resign to allow the league to finish on-time. Meant VoL were confirmed as...
  16. Re: What the f*** is happening with Lancashire's Leagues

They'll soon be playing 13 a side , and be restricted to 6 tackles an attack...
  17. Re: What the f*** is happening with Lancashire's Leagues

You say that, but we're in a situation where the bottom is now Level 7... I fully expect this to last one season before they either merge back in or England Rugby make a tweak and regionalise the...
  18. Re: What the f*** is happening with Lancashire's Leagues

And what is already a messy league structure is going to get worse. Yay!

I know Mr Trainor of this parish has been inquiring about it elsewhere but who knows if anythings actually going to happen.
  19. What the f*** is happening with Lancashire's Leagues

So on Twitter - looks like the majority of Level 7, 8 and 9 clubs in Lancashire and voted to go and form their own mini-league, in a split away from the RFU league structure. As far as I can tell -...

Re: Where are you this weekend? 2017/2018

Got the pleasure of Lancaster University Ladies 2 v York Uni Ladies 2s on the Saturday - L12 and then the equivalent first team fixture on the Sunday. Going to be fun reffing in a 2.5k capacity...

Re: Where are you this weekend? 2017/2018

I have the pleasure of Chorley 1s v Rossendale 3s on the Saturday - L10 match that means nothing, followed by Vale of Lune U18s v Newcastle U Lyne U18s as a L9 on the Sunday...

Re: Where are you this weekend? 2017/2018

After a really enjoyable weekend, I've picked up 2 weird games.

Firstly the society have asked me to referee a 40 minute trial match for Lancashire Ladies tonight - not sure what to expect but...

Re: Where are you this weekend? 2017/2018

If you want fun with the leagues - check out London 3 NE - which contains my old Club Stowmarket and Southwold top on the same points. One league table suggests Southwold goes up while the other...

Re: Where are you this weekend? 2017/2018

Having refereed Didsbury last weekend (against Congleton) - I suspect Didsbury won't be at risk of losing both their remaining two. For a 3rd team Didsbury had some very good players in their squad...

Re: Where are you this weekend? 2017/2018

Got Manchester Village Spartans 1 v Aldwinians 3 on Saturday - both sides need to win to have a chance of staying up so this should be fun.
At least I think that's the case?...
