    Re: New Score Card design

    Some countries you have to, for example I reffed in Spain (well Catalunya to be precise) last year, and even at Junior level they record everything, eg subs, time, player number on / off, time scored...

    [Tackle] Re: Not really a tackle but a slide..

    Unless with excessive force / dangerous, in which case it’s sanctionable. Anything that puts another player at risk is sanctionable, even if the act would normally be ‘ok’, in the same way that...

    [Tackle] Re: Not really a tackle but a slide..

    If you were to do a no wrap chop ‘tackle’ on a player without the ball, that caused him to flip over and land on the ground on his neck would you not sanction the player then? Only real difference...

    Re: 22 Drop Out - Not taken properly

    In the context of that game, weather, score line, standards I would have won jobsworth of the day if I’d punished them, however I was wrong in law in my head at least. They all wanted to go home at...

    [Tackle] Re: Not really a tackle but a slide..

    With the way the player landed, head / neck impact I can see why yellow was shown, it's a gamble unfortunately. There was one in the premiership the other week where one from each team slid in to...

    Re: 22 Drop Out - Not taken properly

    Argh, stupid law book, I hate this inconsistent re-organisation, the correct answer is Scrum green, the answer being buried under 19.1 (Scrum);

    An incorrect kick-off or restart kick (scrum...

    I saw that, but we didn't get as far as taking a drop out, let alone crossing the line!

    22 Drop Out - Not taken properly

    From my game on Saturday, 22 Drop Out awarded to red, red captain picks up the ball inside the 22, sort of taps it then flings it with no great urgency to a team mate 5m away (at this point I'm...

    This exact same thing was being discussed on the Womens Wednesday edition of the Rugby Weekly podcast, not necessary a different size, but certainly a different ball (apparently college American...

    L9 Candy League - Barnard Castle 2 vs Billingham 3s - Side of a hill in Barney is not where I want to spend a storm, doubling up that praying knee and back is ok after two physio sessions this week

    [Junior] Re: Role of the captain in schoolboy rugby?

    I coach U13 and we pick the captain game by game, it's not an expected role in and around the laws of the game they play to. However next year the new rules of play will require decision making...

    Re: New Front Row logic tree

    Which happens regularly, the lose before you start *may* have been a cup regulation, can't remember, oddly enough no one owns up to it, which kinda defeats the safety aspect of it all :-I(

    Re: New Front Row logic tree

    I've had a couple of league games with only 3xFR, games have all gone ahead (someone elses problem with regards regs), only 1 of those went uncontested, and the results was a BP win anyway so don't...

    Re: New Front Row logic tree

    I know this one (well I asked);

    ďIf they're injured from foul play and they leave at the penalty then they can be replaced and have uncontested scrums with 15 men on the field

    If they play...

    Re: Ref watch..

    The refscorer watch was a positive for me today, apart from not being able to record a couple with time off, but that was easily managed. Confident that my penalty count was much more accurate,...

    [Scrum] Re: Scrum to the team 'Going Forward'

    Agreed, and in my original scenario I would argue that the team going forward gets the scrum, failing that the team last in possession - which is probably more in line with expectations anyway, but...
