Yes. Very cleverly written dark humour in the main. Excellent human behavioural observation material. Seen a lot of them. Including the one you mention.

Movimiento furtivo. Rodeando el exterior. Pero esto podría ser un callejón sin salida.

Just to confirm, we are playing the English language version? The Spanish version has nuances in translation which aren’t quite the same rules.

Re: [6N] Sco v Fra: Player on ground

I noticed also and was surprised it was ignored. I thought I heard somebody mention it to the ref but he said something about playing through. Perhaps I misheard because the commentators were...

    [Tackle] Re: YC/RD

    Sorry for confusion.
The point I’m trying to make is that the release of bind was the result of the force of the drive and not something done intentionally to get out of trouble. For this reason I...

    [Tackle] Re: YC/RD

The ‘offender’ was the dominant scrum which drove forward at such a rate that it was not possible to hold on to a bind or keep shape.
Or possibly a very weak back five that couldn’t offer the front...

    [Tackle] Re: YC/RD

I can understand that approach at the lower levels but at the levels I generally observe and above you can’t really do that.

    [Tackle] Re: YC/RD

The dominant scrum repeatedly cause the inferior scrum to release their binding. Continually reset or penalise the dominant scrum?

    [Tackle] Re: YC/RD

It is if you keep releasing you binding etc. Repeat infringements are foul play, by definition.

Basically releasing binding is what you give the PT for in the above circumstances. It’s not done...

    [Tackle] Re: YC/RD

I never have thought that it is compulsory to YC for a PT. Recently at one of our training sessions one ot our professional referees said that they try to avoid a ‘double whammy’ as much as possible....

Yes, possibly. The non-offending side can choose the most advantageous sanction for themselves at a penalty advantage. (When this law was first introduced I wasn't clear myself so asked for...

[6N] Re: Wales v France - Did the ref bottle it?

All I can say is that every referee so far in my circle of acquaintances, which includes some professional and semi-professional referees, believe the decision to not award a PT for the knock-on was...

[Scrum] Re: Offside line for 9 at uncontested scrums

I’m assuming that these differences are in the WRU regulations. All regional regulations take precedence over the laws and you don’t need WR permission, as far as I’m aware.

As the commentator said, ‘he knew what he was doing’. Reckless with no thought of player coming forward. YC okay for me.

There is quite a lot of discussion on this point at the moment. The information I am trying to gather, so that I can make up my own mind, is in what way would the game be better if the ball was...
