[Maul] Re: Is this a forward pass?

    more pinheads then.

A1 carries ball into what becomes amaul
A2 grasps the ball entering form behind A1.
Both A1 ad A2 have joint grasp of the ball.

the maul moves forward a couple of metres. ...
  3. [Tackle] Re: Wales v All Blacks U20 - how is this not a red card?

yup. basically its all about control.
  4. [Tackle] Re: Wales v All Blacks U20 - how is this not a red card?

This 100%. Feet on the ground gives ability to move, drive with the legs provides coninuous power right through the tackle. Once he is launched as ian says, there is no more control - BC steps -...

[Line out] Re: Another Line Out Question..

well... ref the other recent thread when he arrives as the ball is thrown in and takes the ball on the move with momentum.

Though personally Im still "unsure" about that being "wrong" nonetheless...
  6. [Tackle] Re: Wales v All Blacks U20 - how is this not a red card?

not your lads of course, but maybe some could be being coached to do so to win a PK and card.

I would never totally reject such an suspicion (whilst totally abhoring the idea!)

Re: Inclusiveness in rugby / Paddy Jackson

Meanwhile off on a tangent... if X has some done something that some may view as meaningt they should not be provided with employment - presumably that also means they are happy with the concept...

[7's/10's] Re: What’s everyone doing over the break?

that's very flattering OB, but TBH I'm not sure I could keep up with these younger players - I can do 5K in about 30 minutes, 10K in a tad over an hour, but I'm not sure I could keep up with any of...

[7's/10's] Re: What’s everyone doing over the break?

As yet to be decided wrt my "future". Could be a natural end of the line - I'm 57 at the start of next season, and Ive coached older youth squads for the past several years. I'll be FOUR times...

    [Scrum] Re: Uncontested scrums

    Then again, from the OP

    Re: Premiership final

Thats a sensible approach. The problem will be finding sufficient fixture for the season, as everybody else will have league fixtures three weeks out of four (or similar)

Re: Quick Line out (not quick throw in)

    I'm not ignoring them.

I'm saying it seems odd that the law insists on not exposing a tactical error.

Re: Quick Line out (not quick throw in)

no sanction for a kick taken with kicking team players all behind the ball but oppo notn all behind the 10m line then?

Presumably a re-taken kick if that is the case?

Re: Quick Line out (not quick throw in)

so there you have it. the law makers have rather made it clear that it is possible to throw the ball in "quickly" while the LO is being "put together".

Re: Quick Line out (not quick throw in)

No. It just means that if the non throwing team does NOT have a player in the tramlines they are liable to sanction. It does not mean the lineout cannot happen until there is one.
