    Re: retaken conversion

We will need to agree to differ. For me the time if to allow the preparation for the kick. I think the term is "manage it".

Back to OP I seem no reason, in law, to prevent another player taking...

    Re: retaken conversion

Ok so I award a try and tell the player we have 28 seconds left. He promptly places the ball on the tee and proceedes to sit down. Checking how much of the 28 seconds is left at regular intervals,...

[Golden Oldies] Re: Nigel Owens on inclusive rugby.

I'd not help him fund his case, he can afford it. Others can't.

    Re: retaken conversion

I'd allow him time as long as he was not just wasting time. The player in question had no intention of making a serious attempt he just did not want a restart. All the conversions up to that point...

    Re: retaken conversion

Off topic, indeed slightly. Hence my opening sentence. I made it clear to him that "acts contrary to good sportsmanship" were not going to work. His call after that.

My watch. I am the only one...

    Off on a slight tangent.

    7s on Saturday.

Blue team goes into a small lead (1 point) with the conversion to come. We are very close to time.

    Re: retaken conversion

Football world cup back in the 1990s. Gazza has lost it and is in tears. Gary Linaker looks to the bench and indictes to the manager that Gazza needs to be replaced because his "head is gone".

    Re: retaken conversion

Remember the old days where Doctors had to say that a player was injured and could be replaced. Every team had a doc who would "comply" with the desire of the team. As you rightly say this would...

[Maul] Re: Is this a forward pass?

    World Rugby differs!

Hand-off: A permitted action, taken by a ball-carrier to fend off an opponent, using the palm
    of the hand.

Nothing to do with the Brits. Take it up with Bret G!

[Maul] Re: Is this a forward pass?

Yes and, since there are two people in possession, apply the current laws as to which ball carrier has caused the ball to go into touch.

[Maul] Re: Is this a forward pass?

Refer to the post OB Quoted:

What it says on the tin. More or less immediate transfer of possession.

I take that to be passes is Hands immediately whereas in the OP tboth...

[Maul] Re: Is this a forward pass?

    For me:

The maul is specific "who took the ball into the maul"

Try scoring Blue is in possession and scores even if red joins him in being "in possession".

    Here Both players are in...
  15. [Tackle] Re: Wales v All Blacks U20 - how is this not a red card?

If you are looking at a still you are unable to make any judgement bout sliding up or the tackled player dropping in height etc. So whilst you ASSUMPTIONS may be correct, they are no more than...

He's been cited. So we wait and see.

From watching it, after hearing some of the debate (so an "influenced" observation), I could see it being a red or a yellow to the guys on the field. The...

    [Scrum] Re: Uncontested scrums

Once a scrum get a shove on stopping it is not easy. On a wearing pitch that becomes virtually impossible. So yes there are particular issues that the scrum faces compared to other facets of the game.

    [Scrum] Re: Uncontested scrums

    [Scrum] Re: Uncontested scrums

I think by saying: "Guys I don't think you're safe scrummaging. We will go to an U19 push" might be leaving the door open for an action against you later.

    [Scrum] Re: Uncontested scrums

In senior rugby, I would say no. However, you can play a match with U19 scrum laws: IF the relevant Union has sanctioned it (Law 19.39). That apart it is full law (with uncontested being avaiable...

    [Scrum] Re: Uncontested scrums

    Not me.

I'd apply the same logic as we are, by the Welsh Rugby Union, told to regarding general terms about starting the match:

REF says playable either side says no. Game does not start.
