[Golden Oldies] Re: Nigel Owens on inclusive rugby.

A theologian writes (I think pretty irrelevantly really)

  2. [Scrum] Re: New scrum law to be introduced immediately, apparently...

I'd like to see, on the Laws site, a list of recent changes.
    Wouldn't be hard to do
  3. [Scrum] Re: New scrum law to be introduced immediately, apparently...

This is an age old RR.COM argument

We divide into two camps , those who think the most effective way to communicate to referees is email cascades, and those who can imagine other methods ..
  4. [Scrum] Re: New scrum law to be introduced immediately, apparently...

I am curious to know what is happening in New Zealand .. are they applying the new law or not ?

[Golden Oldies] Re: Nigel Owens on inclusive rugby.

back to the topic --- update on Billy Vunipola and his tweeting.

BV is in the position that Folau was before he made his infamous post : he has received a formal warning.

    Interestingly,...

[Golden Oldies] Re: Nigel Owens on inclusive rugby.

    It's a silly definition.
I can pop pass a ball using my wrists alone, ie without moving my arms.. .. it could go forward. It would be a forward pass .

on no account shuld anyone post on that thread!

  10. [Scrum] Re: New scrum law to be introduced immediately, apparently...

Yes but it doesn't really make sense to talk about the front row having immediate opponent (s). An immediate opponent is something a single person has, not a group of people
  11. [Scrum] Re: New scrum law to be introduced immediately, apparently...

back to the topic - the new Law is now up on the WR site (as ssems to be the custom now, it's not highlighted as a change)

19.10 When both sides are square, stable and stationary, the referee...
  12. [Scrum] Re: New scrum law to be introduced immediately, apparently...

That's a surprise seeing as it's safety law

They are saying it's ok to risk your neck until the end of the season?

[Golden Oldies] Re: Nigel Owens on inclusive rugby.

    Gosh you really are disagreeable

I wasn't making a joke , I was highlighting the absurdity of US gun lobby who frequently say that eg teachers should have guns to protect themselves from school...

So, does anyone think that by saying this you are calling him a liar and impugning his integrity ?

Re: what about this tackle --

Let's not go back to that specific incident as we did it to death

But I like your general question.

The difference is whether you are prepared for the possibility. All the time you have the...

Re: what about this tackle --

    Good points
Of course if a tackler is stationary he is much less committed than of he is running

Re: what about this tackle --

I thought that the guidance Phil's society gave on what is "late" is quite good
Would be useful to have similar guidance on what is "committed" (which is a mitigation when charging down and...
