yep. 100% agree. The offside player IS material, (s)he is removoing options. I can see the point of not wanting 9s to pass the ball into an o/s player to prevent falre-ups... but then such...

    Re: Henshaw on May

I'd be uncomfortable assuming most slaps go forward . I'd suggest a good many actually go straight down or are not C&O forward (like May's)

but ive no evidence to back that up of course. Not...

that's afir enough call... I did consider that also biut for me its not C&O that it was anytjing worse than down if not even marginally (as in 2mm!) backwards.

    Re: Henshaw on May

well Id have to agree to doisagree.

The ball is clearly off the floor when May's hand toches it. It is out of the ruck.

    Re: Henshaw on May

    law reference?

If it's that thing about not diving on a ball as it exits a ruck Ive never seen that pinged in 45 years.

As it is May doesn't dive on the ball. Cooney extracts it and May attacks...

    Re: Henshaw on May

This. If you collect the ball when offside and I then punch you and kick you, it would be somewhat bizarre for me not to concede a pk (cards or not!)

  18. Re: Munster vs Southern Kings 14 February 2020. - Yellow card

    ????????????

    The OP says

"Red 20 (openside flanker) runs back 20m to get involved. While trying to drag a teammate out of the brawl he got an elbow in the head for his trouble."

    ...
  19. Re: Munster vs Southern Kings 14 February 2020. - Yellow card

so he shouldnt have tried to prevent his own team mate from further escalation of the melee? (from the OP description)

except one is a tackle on the ball carrier and the other is the ball carrier on a defnder - a hand off is a better comparison.

    Sympathies with both players.

PK, dangerous play, finger wag to be careful going forward.

[Tackle] Re: Pulling through at the tackle

I guess if blue has the ball in his hands there is not contact OVER the ball. Instead its contact with a ball carrier ie an attempted tackle.
