[Scrum] Re: Offside line for 9 at uncontested scrums

Assuming this is an adult game?
At an uncontested scrum in RFU land (where you are) players cannot push, and the putting in team must win the ball.
Other than that all other scrum laws still apply....

[6N] Re: Wales v France - Did the ref bottle it?

If the ref "bottled it", then so did (presumably) the two AR's, both experienced (one more experienced than anyone else at the ground), and a very experienced TMO.
Team of 4 worked together on these...

Re: New Front Row logic tree

Because you are getting absolutely stuffed in the scrums on a wet shitty day, and are quite happy to go a man down if you can have uncontested scrums?

Re: Where are you this weekend - 2019-20

I am dreading my game on Saturday.....not because of the players, but because of the facilities.

Last refereed there about a year ago on the coldest day of the year, in wind, rain and snow.

  10. Re: Munster vs Southern Kings 14 February 2020. - Yellow card

It always starts off with just two.
  11. Re: Munster vs Southern Kings 14 February 2020. - Yellow card

If there are two people fighting just leave them to it.
Other players running in to "break it up" can only escalate things.

[Tackle] Re: Clearout at the tackle

At a tackle any player on his feet can go for the ball. Alternatively a player may stand over the ball to guard it.

Any player who gains possession of the ball at a tackle, may in turn be tackled...

[Law] Re: Sco v Eng - Scrum back?

    Not necessarily.

The law differentiates between the ball must reach the 5m before being played; and the ball being blocked.

One is timing, the other is deliberate.

    Players know full well...

[Law] Re: Sco v Eng - Scrum back?

The way i view it is.......

If the ball doesn't travel 5m its options. i.e. front man caught it before it went 5m, so just bad timing.

If the ball is prevented from going 5m deliberately, its...

    Re: Fra-Ita: Obstruction question

    A still picture tells nothing.

Watch it at full speed and the white player is wrong footed and off balance, he wouldn't have made the tackle.
