I don't know enough of the Barbarians history, but adopting any nation's anthem would seem strange to me - World In Union or somethiing similar seems a popular choice

Happens a lot in girls games, especially U13 / U15 friendlies - I ask them to try, if it turns into a punt that goes 10 then play on
Good enough for me if I see it in open play.
i think we did actually, a bloody cold weekend too - and yes, an annual thing we do - yesterday I was sat in the sun pitch side, enjoying a beer post match - in December - today I’m scraping the car!
Nah, I’m mostly in the middle, at the wrong angle with players as TJ’s (sometimes facing the right way), very rare I have to consider the plane of touch at all.
On exchange - to Catalunya!! Should be an interesting test of primary, secondary, and tertiary signals if nothing else!
So glad I‘m almost never in a position to see, let alone make a judgement on these small margins!
But he didn't catch it, so we have a scenario where a player (not in touch) touches the ball (not in touch) and then it ends up in touch. If he had caught it then play on
At the point it's touched it's not in touch, so go back to the beginning of the process when it hits the deck, now that it is in touch, put there by the player who touched it last - or am I missing a...
Apparently it does, which makes me feel better about my games
Yeah, looks like England asked for the mark from where it was kicked (no idea whether they were expecting scrum or kick), ref half though about it, something clicked in place that there was an option...
Options, ask the captain his/her preference
Still offside? Would need to come from an onside position as he's still technically 'in front'? No law reference to hand but am confident I could sell it
Yes, yes, probably (my PMB includes captain taking responsibility for players that choose to go quick, so if he does I'm calling that the captains consent).
Related, how to you manage the...
Was a weekend off but now have my sons's U13 game on Sunday and a rescheduled DN2 (Level 8) tomorrow night - Darlington vs Hartlepool - although my notification has that as black shirts vs black...
I use this one from Diamond, holds scorecard / paper, pencil(s), coin, and extra paper for scribbling on. Three seasons in and doing ok so far;

Ah, yes hadn't spotted that, was distracted with the verbal countdown - U14 they can keep marching forward *then* they get 5 seconds, younger age groups it's a straight 5 seconds
Yeah, that happens a lot, I have a couple of tall lads with Itoje-esque arms in the U13s I coach, they worked our real quick how to wrap up a maul for 5 seconds. I personally think the time limit...
Ah, ok, I don’t do that, mostly because it means if the ball pops out on 5.5/6 I have the option of allowing play to continue instead of backing myself into a decision
Same wording is there in my Aug 2017 copy for U14s, only difference is it's 8k) instead of 8d). What are other refs doing, as this is pretty much the same as Adult laws, ie if maul stops you need to...
Good luck! I was coaching U12 last year so that's how we ran it, same for other clubs up near me. If he refuses to be swayed then please, please ensure he communicates his expectations to the kids...
Pick and go (well rip and go) is allowed at the maul at U12s (that’s the moved away but) your bit in bold is basically if the ball isn’t played within 5 seconds, doesn’t realistically happen as most...
Assume this is RFU new rules of play? In which case yes it’s confusing as they botched the cut and paste to a point where it doesn’t make much sense, but yes, pick and go from ruck and maul fine,...
Snap, including my sons U13 game tomorrow I’ve gone from a 3 match weekend to none, thank you rain ☹️
Barnard Castle 2s vs Hartlepool 2s (L9) - snow is forecast so feeling cold already :-(
Social ladies game as a favour at my club on Sunday, expecting rude words and stoppages!
