[Maul] Re: Non Competing at a Maul

Then you are doing it different to the guidance, and potentially what every other referee is doing.

[Maul] Re: Non Competing at a Maul

The sequence of events goes something like this (Wolrd Rugby & RFU guidelines)....

Did the defending team step backwards, therefore leaving the lineout early? If so penalise them.

    If the...
  4. Re: RFU Regulation 15 - 8 MAUL - Use it or Lose it - 5,4,3,2,1.

So did you query why they hadn't taught their players to get the ball to the back and make it always available for when momentum stopped?
  5. Re: RFU Regulation 15 - 8 MAUL - Use it or Lose it - 5,4,3,2,1.

    What were they querying.

    The turnover?
Or the 5 seconds when forward momentum ceases?

    Re: Foot on the Line

The result is never going to be a scrum back.
The only decision is did the ball go straight out (line out in line with kick), or taken out (line out where it was taken out).

    You only get a scrum...

[Ruck] Re: Gain in ground - taken back to 22

It could be argued that "No Hand"s is coaching.

Whereas "Ruck" is giving them the information to decide themselves if they can use hands or not?

[Law] Re: Mark from a penalty

The only time you can't call a mark is from a kick off (start of first and second half) or from a restart after a score.

So you CAN call a Mark from a Penalty Kick, Free Kick, or a 22 Drop Out.

[Ruck] Re: Gain in ground - taken back to 22

    Simple answer NO.

As soon as the ball get heeled back into the 22 give a nice loud shout of "Taken Back" so everyone knows whats happened and can't argue later if they kick direct to touch.

[Line out] Re: When is a U!5 line out over?

If there is nothing in the U15 regulations, then you revert to the laws of the game.

However there was some official guidance on age grade lineouts. As far as I am aware this is still extant.

  24. [Ruck] Re: Scrum halves playing the ball back with their foot from the side of the ruck

If you don't let him roll the ball back in some way the game comes to a stalemate with no one able to play the ball, so you have to give a scrum.
Is that really what you want?
