[Law] Re: Penalty Kick at Goal Rules

If on a difficult kicking day Red indicate they are going for posts, just miss and a chasing red catches the ball and scores - does the try stand?
If on a perfect kicking day Red indicate they are...

  3. Re: AUSvGEO - Naisani YC - a reason for concern?

Every time I here someone bleating about a card for their team, I assume that it was lenient and therefore I have to assume the Aussie deserved red.

    Re: RWC 2019 cancellations

Because it did not disrupt Super Rugby and the Premiership could start lateto accomodate.
Bear in mind F1 are aso in town and they could go at any time of the year.

But I am not sure moving to...
  6. [Law] Re: Law changes that have TRULY benefited the grass roots game

I think the problem was permitting sides to charge into the scrum.

Am I right in thinking there was a time the front rows bond first and the other rows bound only once that was stable.

Re: Should the game clock be reset?

I am not sure we need three grades of kick - so we may need to beef up the free kick.
Which would make the mark very powerful.
But that might discourage people kicking away possession.

Re: Should the game clock be reset?

Any other suggestions for reducing time wasting? Especially at the TV end of the game - where is seems to be more of a problem.

Well as I said hockey has different regulations for tv games and games in the weeds.

Re: Should the game clock be reset?

If we were to trial stopping the clock I would not keep the time at 80 minutes - possibly 70.
Run a trial at in the Premiership Cup next season (so you do have fully pro scrums).
    Stop the clock...

Re: Should the game clock be reset?

Hockey does stop clock more and reduce playing time on TV - and plays in quarters for extra advert breaks.

Re: one flag up, one flag down

Surely goals like offences have the be C&O.

If you both agree goal is scored. both put flags up.
    Otherwise - keep flags down.

It does not matter if one or both TJs think it missed.

Crossref - something about it being a Rugby league inovation and not being seen to copy the rebels.

Re: one flag up, one flag down

The ref is sole judge of fact. At our level, if only one goes up we would either speak to the TJ or make up oru own mind.
If I ever had ARs - then one flag down is a miss.

But that is not what the law says.
If that was what was intended then theu should fic the law book.

    [Kit] Re: Neoprene lifting supports

As far as I can see law 4 does not mention lifting blocks - so all lifting blocks are illegal.
But I would suspect you would get blank looks or worse if you asked a forward to remove them.

[RWC] Re: Blue on Blue action

Having seen the pictures, I would have called Scotland black and got on with it.
Crossref - I have heard refs use hoops - but you would not use that with blue.

    Law 18.8.c

So as the exception proves the rules in that case directly means without bouncing.
It also means without bouncing in the definition of Directly Caught.

[Law] Re: the cross field kick pass and law 10.4 c

So 9 is ahead of the kicker (and the ref) and moving forward. He is put onside before the pass - but possibly should have been told to hold.

Also I am not sure that the pass to him does not drift...

Re: RWC 2019 Japan - HIA

Failing HIA 1 should not mean there is concussion, only that there may be concussion.
If the player is then symptom free three and 36 hours later they can return to play.

    Personally, I think too...
