  1. Re: Quins v Sarries - Unusual Timekeeper intervention ?

Premiership and EPCR timekeepers can talk to the ref.

They usually give him a 5 minute, one minute and your-time warning.
  2. Re: Quins v Sarries - Unusual Timekeeper intervention ?

Never heard it before. Maybe the timekeeper is also his coach?
    Still not appropriate though.

Time keepers are appointed from a pool of timekeepers, in the same way TMO's are.

[Junior] Re: U14 Rugby - Lineout

Its a good idea to work out what these variations are trying to achieve.

The U14 lineout is letting them practice throwing in and catching with no pressure. Once they have achieved that, carry on...

[Law] Re: Carded in tournament play....?

A RC would normally mean you are out until the discipline panel sit, when a sanction would be decided on.
Since this can't happen at a normal one or two day tournament they are usually out for the...

[Law] Re: Carded in tournament play....?

Tournament rules that affect what happens on the pitch during a game (as opposed to regulations around game progression, league points etc) should be agreed between the TO and the Referees.

    I have...

    Re: Ref watch..

Yes I have one and its a great watch.
    Count up or down.
And I keep the score on it (as a check against my card, plus I can tell the score at a glance without having to add it up) but you could...
  10. [Junior] Re: Penalising players for coach’s actions: myth?

Not sure what they mean by Level 2.

Do they mean someone who has done the Level 2 (now ERRA) course, or do they mean a level 2 ref, which would mean Championship Refs?

    I can't imagine...

Any one got the clip of Barnsey handy?

[Law] Re: Knock on into the dead ball area.

If you give a scrum for a knock on into in-goal, what is the best the non offending team could hope for?
They could win the scrum and kick up field to clear their line.
Or they could run the ball...

    Re: Charging into A Maul

If lifters at a lineout drop their own player they can be penalised for it.
If you put him up there, you are responsible for his safety.
This used to be in the law book.
