Re: So, about this framework then...

I guess their Rugby Correspondent looked at the pattern of play and came up with that conclusion.
  3. Re: Season-long ankle injury fitness options

I would suggest that you look at HILIT training. Get yourself to a gym and find a good PT. Either that or go to your local Rugby Club and see if they know (or have) a good S&C coach who can work...

Re: Where are you this weekend - 2019-20

On the road again - but not with Phil E.

    East Mids 1

    Melbourne -v- West Bridgford

Wondering if the ground will still be dry enough for the Hockey Shoes or whether it is time to move to...
  6. Re: AUSvGEO - Naisani YC - a reason for concern?

I thought that the YC was justified as the mitigation was that the Georgia player was being held by an Australian team mate.

Naisani ran into the contact area and first made contact with the...

Re: Where are you this weekend - 2019-20

Sounds positively blissful! (no doubt some great motorcycling roads and mountain bike trails.

On a personal note - and to get back on topic - this Saturday I have:

    Wellingborough 1st...
  8. [Law] Re: Law changes that have TRULY benefited the grass roots game

Re: [RWC] Italy vs RSA Tackle RC

Both got 3 weeks, which is surprising given that the #17 didn't even agree that the offence warranted a RC!

    [Law] Re: NZ v Canada

The Canadian Scrum did well to stay up and engaged despite being shunted back to their own goal line.

i too was puzzled as to why it was a PT, and if it genuinely was because the Red #9 was...

Re: one flag up, one flag down

    You mean Penalty?

Although I do agree PW didn't appear confused as the 'double whilst' was straight away and there was no evidence of the Fiji players protesting, as stated in the article with...

  14. [Law] Re: Ben vs Lei - Red card (Jumper in the Air)

Because Blue jumped for the ball and green didn't. Even though he was on the ground with his arms in a catching position he was in position to catch the ball because Blue would have intercepted it...

Re: The new ERRA Course for Referees

I would come down on the side that it is a good thing. We need the ERRA course to teach the Laws and Values of the game. The refers can then go out and learn how to apply these.

    As their skill...

Re: Where are you this weekend - 2019-20

Sorry. I am on exchange but up to Syston for their match against Olney.

Olney new to the League and Syston back down from East Mids Premier.
  17. [Maul] Re: Wales v Georgia - penalty try not given from collapsed maul

Because the ball carrier may have broken off the back of the maul.
  18. [Maul] Re: Wales v Georgia - penalty try not given from collapsed maul

Good question, and the answer is because any of these defenders may have tackled the ball carrier and prevented the try being scored.

[RWC] Re: How are the RWC refs doing so far ?

I think the time frame for him to be cited has now passed.

It was a challenge off the ball and was also round the neck with no mitigating circumstances so - IMHO - should be a RC

    Re: Suitably Trained and Experienced

As a referee I rely on the word of the Coach (at Junior levels). If I suspect that he is unsafe then I will go uncontested scrums and have a word with the coach as to why.
  21. [Scrum] Re: Can a scrum half put his hands on the scrum, potentially aiding/holding shove?

No, no more than 8 players are permitted in the scrum.

Re: Gaining advantage by making ball dead

    Don't see the issue.

Same as a PK awarded when the time is up and the Captain says that he doesn't want the line-out and so the ball is just kicked out and Full Time

[Law] Re: Kick from 22, when is it inside

The line is inside. its a bit like when is a "no ball" a "no ball" in cricket. If he has overstepped the line then he is outside, fort on it then all ok

Stowe School -v- Marlborough College for me this week.
