[Law] Re: Penalise teams late onto the field

I believe you. But then I would say you are escalating too far too fast. Abandoning the gamenl becasue one team comes out late is disproportionate, I think

[Law] Re: Penalise teams late onto the field

I have not ever had a team being maliciously late. But sometimes you do get teams who are not well organised becoming late and still huddling when the moment comes.

    Generally I would do nothing....

[Law] Re: Penalise teams late onto the field

I am not sure you would get the support of your society / union. It would be a brave step to actually pick up your whistle go home

[Law] Re: Penalise teams late onto the field

You simply cannot start with a PK , there is no offence committed and nothing in the Law Book to cover a PK

Write a quick report to the League organisers and let them deal with it.

    And...

[Line out] Re: Offside by QTI

You are saying a QTI is the same as a lineout
You might just as well say a ruck is the same as a scrum

    They are just different things.

I would say that if the ball...

[Line out] Re: Offside by QTI

    Its not hard

There are lineouts (with offside lines and lots of other laws) some are more quickly executed than others
    .
There are QTIs (different things, with no offside lines and few other...

[Line out] Re: Offside by QTI

I said that the QTI does nor CREATE AN OFFSIDE LINE

    A common scenario is
    - blue kick to touch
    - blue 6 is in front of the kicker

if blue 6 continues to move forward, and then contests the...

If you were offside and continued to moving forward toward the ball, you should be penalised

[Line out] Re: Offside by QTI

Becasue it's not a quickly taken lineout (which does have offside lines, for both teams) it's a QTI !

[Line out] Re: Offside by QTI

i find that one hard to imagine :

1 how did blue 6 get there (50m sprint) so fast - was he actually behind the kicker ? or was he offside himself?

2 but putting that aside: no - Red 5 should...

[Line out] Re: Offside by QTI

    No

The PK and the QTI have similarities in that the ball is half dead. The whistle has gone but one team is free to play the ball immediately, while the other isn't . Its both live and dead...

[Line out] Re: Offside by QTI

But it isn't really, is it. Its the same as a PK : one team is free to play it (in the prescribed way) . Its the famous zombie ball

[Line out] Re: Offside by QTI

A ruck creates offside lines. We ensure that 'lazy runners' like you don't benefit from their laziness (never onside from the ruck is the normal call when you are penalised)

    A QTI does not create...

    Re: booing & Barbarians

It was Israel Folau's idea ..
  20. [Law] Re: Folauís online comments have taken a turn for the worse.

Saracens was founded in 1876 which was a different country
..but even then I think the name was meant as tribute, not as an insult

(No one would choose that name nowadays)

    Crusaders chose...

[Line out] Re: Offside by QTI

a QTI doesn't create an offside line.
Indeed generally speaking it acts as the opposite, being a pass it puts the oppo onside (assuming they weren't previously advancing when they shouldn't or...

[Line out] Re: Offside by QTI

It means that when your side kick, and you are in front of your kicker , you can't race forward to defend a possible QTI

You need to stand still until the ball goes into touch (or otherwise put...
