    [6N] Re: Italy/France

If I remember correctly the decision was a 5 metre scrum for a knock on

    [6N] Re: Italy/France

Here's the clip I was on about, knocked on and then kicked out by the defender. Definitely not the clearest of instructions.

    [6N] Re: Italy/France

Am a little confused with the slaping of the ball as there was an incident in a Bath game late last year where a Bath player was busy playing to the crowd instead of grounding the ball and a defender...

    Re: 6 Nations review.

I enjoyed the 6 Nations overall although Ireland were so frustrating to watch a lot of the time, it just seemed it was plan a with no plan b. I'm not sure if this is other teams shutting Ireland down...

[6N] Re: IRE - FRA YC when playing advantage?

I think the French tight head should have gotten a yellow for repeated infringementd close to goal and yes the ref should gave done it after the try, bit of a cop out by the ref, odd situation where...

Re: IRE v FRA: to card or not to card?

Must say I don't like players doing this to contrive a card, it's a bit like footballers waving imaginary cards at the ref after a foul encouraging a real card. France should have had a yellow...

[Law] Re: Player goes to ground. Can you award a try ?

My first impresdion was try too, intent seems to be the key. Eg if the player slipped and the ball hit his foot/knee then the try would stand too imo.

[Law] Re: Wales England playing ball on ground

There was another playing the ball on the ground by Wales I think in the second half, Welsh player tackled sets the ball up but rolls it along the ground at least twice towards him while he's prone....

    Re: offside after knock on

Forgive my simplicity here but seeing as the ball was knocked on by green 14 why does it matter that green 7 was offside or not? To my mind it's a penalty for a knock on instead of offside as given....

    [Scrum] Re: Is it uncontested

I think time off, confirm if there's an eligable player that can come on. If not then the next scrum is uncontested due to safety issues.

Re: Scotland V Ireland at 5 mins

If memory serves Poite said something like '2nd man in' implying he was bound and thetefore part of the ruck, if he had kicked the ball he would have been ok or stood over it to allow an Irish...

    [6N] Re: ENG v FRA - Blocking?

Definitely agree on the offsides not being enforced, given the 13 man high lines being used it's inevitable that more kicking in behind for a chaser rather than for territory will be used.

    Are...

    [6N] Re: ENG v FRA - Blocking?

Yes definitely, lots of lazy moving going on but very hard to officiate unless the tmo is involved. To be fair England weren't the only ones at it but given that the kick behind is becoming more...

[Line out] Re: 6N Scotland V Ireland

If you are kicking for goal it requires the opposition to retreat which puts them at a disadvantage, if as happened on Saturday it's a quick tap instead of going over the line it's up to the defence...

    [Ruck] Re: Slapper (Lol)

If the french player had the ball and Sinclair pulled his scrum cap off it would be a definite pk and very likely a yellow card. Stupid stuff considering England were well ahead, I would think Eddie...

[Line out] Re: 6N Scotland V Ireland

Interesting responses, strange that we don't see it more often. I would disagree on a player indicating for a kick at goal and not taking it as this requires both officials and the opposition to move.

[Line out] 6N Scotland V Ireland

In the first half of the Scotland v Ireland game yesterday Scotland got a penalty about 7 metres out from the goal line and looked like they indicated that they were going to kick for touch, they...

[6N] Re: Scotland v Ireland Sexton failed HIA

Odd thing for Joe to say given his attention to detail but I suspect Johnny would be rested for the Italy game anyway and Carberry will start.

[Law] Re: Quiz #9/10 Decisions Decisions

A or B for one, I had no idea you could decline the opportunity to kick a conversion, you could kick a very quick one with no intent on scoring but I thought you had to at least try.

    Re: Tom Curry Yellow Card

On first viewing it looked like a clothes line hit but the replay showed an attempt to wrap, bit late but for me Itoje was more deserving of a card and probably would have got one if England were not...

    [6N] Re: Maku

If James Lowe got a red in a similar incident a few weeks back playing for Leinster and didn't even get off the round then this is deserving of one too.

May was behind Itoje so he couldn't see...

Have to say didn't notice this at the time but it does look like it was held up and not grounded, at the time I thought the AR did a great job of positioning himself and gave it fairly immediately....

[Law] Re: Wales vs France last minute

If the kick was impossible/highly unlikely then the ball would be alive if it landed in play so opposition would have possession, it would be a very risky move. I would think the kicker would have to...
