  1. Re: Rugby in Australia - not quite dead, but close

That story is about last years season, which ended up having some great games

In any case GRR is just a stepping stone to what he wants - like Packer with World Series Cricket

    Hopefully Twiggy...
  2. Re: Rugby in Australia - not quite dead, but close

Hopefully Twiggy Forest comes in and takes the whole thing over

    [Law] Re: Incorrectly taken penalty.

My point was more that in RL a tap of the ball on the foot is "correctly taken", the ball doesnt have to be kicked, unlike in RU

    [Law] Re: Incorrectly taken penalty.

Yep, especially being in a predominantly rugby league area

Anything above U13 it was always do it right or its a scrum to the other mob - no second chances

Why are we trying to invent more reasons to blow the whistle? Hand off away!!

[Law] Re: Knock on into the dead ball area.

We have an issue that anyone who became a ref after the rewrite with no previous rugby experience will be stymied

[Law] Re: Referees using player's names

I played against Clwb Rygbi Cymry Caerdydd back in 2016 when the Golden Oldies world cup was on in Cardiff - great lads

All I can picture is a Windsor Davies lookalike in ref kit shouting "Come here Evans, not you Evans, I want Evans"

[Law] Re: Referees using player's names

That would be dangerous in Wales. Arent all the teams cald Llanllanllanllangwtch? 😁
  17. [Law] Re: summary of law changes, proposals and trials ?

Hoping it goes well, they had some great games last season. Fiji v Samoa was one of the best games I've ever watched.

Hopefully Rugby Australia goes bankrupt and Twiggy Forest takes it over
  18. [Law] Re: summary of law changes, proposals and trials ?

Given the NRC finished in October and Super Rugby starts in a few weeks its a bit late now.
  19. [Law] Re: summary of law changes, proposals and trials ?

No nothing, although I basically switch off from rugby in September, and Im giving refereeing away so havent been in the loop
  20. [Law] Re: summary of law changes, proposals and trials ?

[Law] Re: Referees using player's names

I don't like it , except for captains at down time. I also have no problem with the captain using my name at downtime. Its a bit Downton Abbey otherwise if I'm using their name and they are calling...

[Law] Re: Penalise teams late onto the field

Here its pretty rare for juniors to use changing rooms even if they are available - they turn up in their kit, put on and take off boots on the sideline and leave in their kit. Maybe change jersey...
