[Law] Re: High Tackle Framework - Mitigation

Basically if its one on one and the defender lines him up from 50 yards out and still hits him high, then that's an aggravating factor and no mitigation can be used.

    No its not covered specifically...

I am on 372, but that's only Society referee appointments and not counting kids, 7s, festivals or AR run outs.

Spookily enough the dinner is in the Warrant Officers Mess at HMS Excellent!
  8. [Law] Re: Tap penalty to player already running: allowed?

    No it isn't.

Cavalry charge: An illegal type of attack, which usually happens near the goal line, when the
attacking team is awarded a penalty or free-kick. At a signal from the kicker, a line of...
  9. Re: How's this season going re new law interprretations down in the weeds?

This is mandatory at certain junior levels. U11 and U12 I think?

This is from the U12 regs.

    a) A “Tackle” occurs when the ball carrier is held by one or more...

  12. [Law] Re: Tap penalty to player already running: allowed?

What you are describing sounds like a one man cavalry charge.

Cavalry charge: An illegal type of attack, which usually happens near the goal line, when the
attacking team is awarded a penalty or...

    [Law] Re: Choke 'Tackle'

If the ball carrier gets a knee to the ground it's a tackle. Shout "Tackle, Release".
If he doesn't get a knee to the ground.....play on.

[Law] Re: Failed Intercept in Fifteens

    [Law] Re: "Knock-on"

[Law] Re: Scoring a try against the padding/post

[INTERNATIONAL] Re: England Ireland was it a ruck

It's one of those that looks wrong, and will have everyone on the sideline screaming "offside", but there is no tackle, no tackle with offside lines, and no ruck. So it's open play.
