    [7's/10's] Re: "tackler release"

Of course in the original scenario the tackler could have held on and given away the penalty in which case the referee's call would have made no difference.

    [In-goal] Re: Knock-on into in-goal

    Law 7.3 (f)
Advantage must not be applied and the referee must blow the whistle immediately when:
    The ball is made dead.

As the ball has been made dead advantage must not be applied.

[Law] Re: Player goes to ground. Can you award a try ?

But as he slid in towards the ball (which presumably was not moving about) I would say he played the ball rather than the ball bouncing off him.

[Law] Re: May in-goal hold back?

But Dupont was the ground and out of the game. Under law 13.3a he must allow a player (Farrell) on his feet to play the ball.

[Law] Re: Quiz #6 - short lineouts

Which shows the player standing in front of the five metre line with his arm raised, before the ball has left the throwers hand. That is not what you described in the original question.

[Law] Re: Quiz #6 - short lineouts

Red has thrown in at the lineout and it has been caught by blue inside the five metre line; therefore in my opinion blue has not blocked the throw as when the throw was taken he was back 5 metres..

[Law] Re: Emergency stop in last play

Law 5.10 gives the referee power to suspend the game at any time for safety reasons. Does this not apply if an serious injury occurs in added on time?

    Re: Maul to ruck

Surely under Law 17d if a player goes to ground in a maul and the ball is not available it is a maul that has ended unsuccessfully and not a ruck.
  12. [Scrum] Re: Who gets the scrum after ball kicked at head and injury

By the time the ref had blown play had developed and one team (Bath IIRC) was in possession when he blew.

Do you think that this should have been a penalty try? (or even was it a high tackle?) I thought it was a harsh decisiion.
