[Law] Re: Penalise teams late onto the field

Here its pretty rare for juniors to use changing rooms even if they are available - they turn up in their kit, put on and take off boots on the sideline and leave in their kit. Maybe change jersey...

[Law] Re: Penalise teams late onto the field

I agree. Normally the next ref just starts pacing agitatedly on the sideline shooting you looks.

The guys who do private school First XV games here can be a little, hmmm, lets say precious (not...

Not really an option. All games must start on time.

[Law] Re: Penalise teams late onto the field

It was CAS schools (basically the second tier of expensive private schools) but yes similar rules, and it was on the schools main pitch. As an old state school boy I really didnt give a toss about...

[Law] Re: Penalise teams late onto the field

Kind of related, I was doing a Second XV game between 2 reasonably elite private schools. One was trailing by about 5 points with time up late in the second half with an attacking line out throw from...

[Law] Re: Penalise teams late onto the field

From NSW Suburban Rugby Union manual:

12.1 The duration of matches and kick-off times shall be:

    1st 40 mins 3:15pm

[Law] Re: Penalise teams late onto the field

Yep, its only happened once to me - I walked to the centre (which I normally never do until both teams are out - in this case only Team A was) blew my whistle and made it clear that I was starting my...

  15. [Law] Re: Folauís online comments have taken a turn for the worse.

Hopefully now we can get rid of Castle and the lot and put the olive branch out to Twiggy Forrest.

Given the chances of the pay tv deal falling through rugby in Australia needs a Kerry Packer...

    [Golden Oldies] Re: Team Y/C

At a society meeting we saw a video of Stu Dickinson (ex international referee) give a yellow card after about 2 minutes of play without having blown a penalty - there were a series of advantages as...
  17. [Law] Re: New Urban Myth - Only a prop can take a knee!

Still pretty much the same, except now Colts play between 3rds and 2nds - so 4ths KO at 10.30 (the old blokes love that !!)
  18. Re: Do you walk through the tunnel after the game?

Thinking over the last couple of seasons i cant think of a single time the ref of our first teams games going near the tunnel.
  19. [Law] Re: New Urban Myth - Only a prop can take a knee!

Every junior game and senior games below first grade. Our lower grade games have defined start and finish times to make sure First grade start on time

I should mention that unlike the British...
  20. [Law] Re: New Urban Myth - Only a prop can take a knee!

This is one of the things that can be tough here in Aust where many games have no added time for any reason.
  21. Re: Do you walk through the tunnel after the game?

I dont feel its appropriate, while players are doing that Im generally thanking my ar's and checking details with the managers
  22. Re: Do you walk through the tunnel after the game?

    [Law] Re: Numbers

I would disallow it under 3.7- although probably not directly supported in law - and report it to the union.

Interestingly if it was an AR that brought it to my attention rather than me noticing...
