The ball was not dead, there is time for a lineout following a PK to touch. Surely you can tell him. Would you at 20-19 deny a conversion attempt for the side on 19 points because he wants the pitch?

That seems logical. A quick check of the law book shows:
Laws: 8.21, 12.1, 12.6, 12.8, 12.9. 12.12, 12.17, 12.18, 21.12 All are either a scrum or options (that include a scrum) to the...
8.22
If the kicker indicates to the referee the intent to kick at goal, the opposing team must
stand still with their hands by their sides from the time the kicker starts to approach to
kick until...
Also, of course, there is the "cat-all" referred to above.
Yes, in the game the ref gave a scrum.
I'd agree with that on the basis that 8.21's sanction is a scrum and, as others have pointed out, the general law is scrum for incorrectly taken kicks.
So you're saying
Ho? No comment
Should? Take the kick again
Is that right?
I'd "politely" tell him where to go!
The referee does come to his senses and he dissalowed the try. At that level I'd consider a YC, At my level it's possibly a learning point. For both sides. Looking at the defence all were tucked...
Of course.
That dos not give much detail. I'm sure the RFU have taken advise on their, referee, policies. What worries me is seeing ta post suggesting that anyone could rock onto the pitch with no training...
Excellent call.
AS Balones put you have the option of abandoning the game. It is all about context. After 10 minutes whatever the conditions I'm probably feeling they are not prepared to play.
You use some...
I've no problem. Seems he has, for whatever reason.

And that makes good sense. Especially with your restricttions on time.
Also, in Wales, all rugby from youth upwards (L2 min) is appointed by a regional officer and at L3 for national league games. Ww are appointed to the game and not the home team so if there is a...
Don't shoot the messenger! This is the post I was responding to!
The "win at all costs" mentality is alive and well.
To ask? Of course. But the call is the referee's no one elses. UNLESS HIA is in place. I'd put the burden on the team to prove it was.
Indeed.
Off topic, BUT!
Remember when they are playing and you are reffing they are just a player trying to con-vince you that they were legal. Players cheat, that included refs who are playing!
I had...
As does our game BELOW youth. Youth andabove must be appointed here. All "Age Grade" refs here have to have a WRU L1 license. They are postively encouraged to attend society and look to progress but...
On a related topic, I had a medical student try to assess himself after a head injury. I told him that, on my pitch he was just a player and not a medical expert. He did not like it ( it was two...
This is just one reason why attendence at society meetings is so important.
In general terms there is little worse than a player playing the "I'm a ref" card during game. But YES this is a little different.
Very difficult for you to get involved. In that situation you...
Agreed. And It may be needed, on some occasions, to call time early due to the conditions. I would include that fact in my report to the organiser. Pointing out the reason the gome had to to finish...
Oh dear, we seem to be getting upset. Had you read Post 10, You may have seen that I have said what I'd do. I've emphasised the relevant part to help you:
Perhaps you should wind your neck in...
