Re: Dissertation Review - Boots and Injury

I have gone through two pairs of the Lethal 11's, and I'm now on a pair of Lethal Ultimate. Absolutely love them! I didn't know if I'd find a boot I liked more than the Lethal 11, but the Ultimate...

    Good work Keith!

I heard them call you in a TV match the other day, and startled my wife by shouting "Hey, I know him!".

You are definitely right about the lack of glamor positioning, it is...

Re: Dissent - When it Gets Personal

As tempting as it always is, I agree that we lose so much respect from the sidelines and the players if we stoop to swearing on the pitch.

I had one match a couple of years ago, with two teams I...

Houses are damn close to that pitch, wonder how often they get windows broken?

    Re: Kit Clash

So many teams play in sublimated kit these days that the "white" kit is typically an option, even if it does make it harder to work out the numbers. Much better to be able to shout "White, roll away"...

    Re: Frustration!

In my playoff match on Saturday I collided with a player and caught his head in my sternum. That put me on the deck in a hurry! Still really hurts!

Re: How far does a referee cover during a game?

The mileage is oddly consistent, there are other things that are useful to note over the course of a season. Top speed, Avg HR and top HR. These sort of things help you track fitness.

Re: How far does a referee cover during a game?

According to my Garmin I seem to hit between 3.7 and 4 miles, almost without fail. Never less than 3.5, and only over 4.2 on a couple of freak occasions.

Re: The Rugby Ref's post match meals.

I would say that it's always better to pre cook sausages for a dish like this. I think the flavor would certainly improve by rendering some of the fat first, and slightly crisping up the casing of...

Stu, we need to get you out to New England, and perhaps I'll get you a game at Boston Irish.

    Re: Lifting Straps

At the weekend I did not like the look of something one second row was wearing, turns out he had taped in two empty "5 Hour energy" bottles to his legs.

Needless to say, those came off.

Re: Article: Wales and the dubious penalty

This is the part that baffles me. The AR in question was not some club volunteer who probably had 4 or 5 pints before the match, this was George Clancy, one of only ten referees on the planet who...

Amazes me that Dave Pearson gets the lowest score on fitness. Simply because he is a stocky bloke. He is a former winger and gets around the pitch very well indeed.

I did get a couple of "Chive On" comments in the bar that night. Also got a nice shot in front of the Ice Hockey arena where "The Miracle on Ice" took place.
