    Re: Owens to referee Wales

It's also not unique, Jim Fleming's final official match was to referee Scotland for their match against the Barbarians at Murrayfield in May 2001.

    Watches

I didn't do many games last year, for various reasons, and when I dug out my kit this year I found that my watch has died, new battery was no help, it is an ex-watch. So I need a new one. I don't...

    Re: knock on? really?

That is the definition of a "formal" kick, e.g. kick off, penalty, etc, to stop the "bounce it on the knee and run away" things that used to happen. A knock on has to come off the hand or arm, in...

    [Law] Re: Jersey numbers

When my children were in age group rugby, they played against a club who had decided to identify their teams en masse, so every member of the U-11 team had a no. 11 shirt, the U-12s were all no.12,...

Re: Where are you this weekend? 2015/2016.

Off to do a touch rugby tournament. When thay asked, they said TAG, I'm sure they did:shrug:, but when the rules turned up, it's definitely touch.
Any advice? It's just RL really, isn't it?

Re: Ongoing fall out from Marler decision

But nothing about the numpties at the 6N and RFU who took the Sepp Blatter view that it's ok as long as you shake hands at the end of the game? Thought WR might have warned them about their future...
  11. Re: When is a player who is in the air ''in touch'' ?

Try thinking of it the other way round. If the ball is over the line but the player holding or batting it back has his feet in the field of play, then the ball is not in touch. Feet not in contact...

But he didn't say it was out on the field causing him to run off, so not inconsistent with other reports e. g. The Times, that there was a bottle at the entrance to the tunnel, after he'd scuttled...

You are correct. Just before that of course, he, and the TMO, ignored the late no-arms hit on Hogg.

I went to watch my local team on Saturday, having set the video to record the game on TV, and was surprised to hear the referee insist that non-throwing team had to match numbers in the line out. How...

    Has Nigel made a mistake?

Scotland v SA today. Pieterson turns the Scotland player upside down and lets him land on his head. TMO eventually talks Nigel into a penalty, just a penalty, when it looks to fit all the...

I only saw the highlights but even with the slow-mo I was forced to ask "is that it? Is that what Ford senior thought should be a red card?"
