    Re: Wales quickly taken PK...

My Sunday newspaper contains a still photo which shows that Watson had an arm each side of Parkes in an upright tackle - both Watson's hands are shown behind Parkes's back. If that is not a...

    Re: Wales quickly taken PK...

What are you agreeing with, Balones? That England needed to be more awake, or that the referee was wrong to allow the penalty to be taken while assorted bods were on/off the pitch?

    [RWC] Re: Referee Rankings

Interesting, because he seemed to keep his worst performance of the season for Wasps v Quins. The fact that he had to march each team back 10 metres says it all.
  8. [6N] Re: 6 Nations launch event - questions for coaches/captains

That also applies to the maul, specially one approaching the tryline, when players, esp backs, join from the side and in front of the ball-carrier. When did anyone last see that pinged?

[Law] Re: Control , again .. Leicester v Gloucester

Hmmm. So ref announcing no decision is a cop-out (specially for WB), and I still think the decision needs to be very clear, which it wasn't. And what happened to giving the benefit of the doubt to...

[Law] Re: Control , again .. Leicester v Gloucester

    And what happened to C&O?
Was it C&O that the ball-carrier lost control? Judging by the number of replays the TMO needed to look at, it was not C&O, therefore a poor decision.

    Brown/Bassett incident

After the Quins/Wasps match, Brown has said that he could have broken his neck in this incident, when he jumped for the ball, collided with Bassett and allegedly fell on his head/neck/shoulder. No...
  12. Re: [VARSITY MATCH] Tackle in open play - player ruled offside

[QUOTE=Camquin;352551]In the past much of the city decamped to Twickenham for a long lunch followed by the varsity match.
Now the culture does not allow for that.

    TMO v VAR

Are we not glad that the TMO system, after early problems, now works pretty well? VAR is still a shambles, witness rugby tackles on Spanish footballers not penalised.

Re: Morriarty Red (Argentina Vs Wales)

When I was still refereeing way back in the 80s I was doing a Quins side against somebody; a Quins flanker (whom I subsequently met when he was a county coach) on three occasions put a choke hold...

    England v BaaBaas

Any thoughts on the officiating? I thought that they were taken up by the occasion and failed to apply the laws, esp iro forward passes.

So why did WR originally say that the match should be replayed? It seems to me that they want the qualification issue to obscure the appointment issue, over which they seem to be taking no action...
