    Re: C-19 lockdown exercide

I'm just doing a couple of runs a week, which was may normal routine and now throwing in a weekend run instead of a game. Fortunate to live by the coast and not encountering man. I am in a local...

Re: Where are you this weekend - 2019-20

Saturday, weeding in the garden, Sunday probably painting.
Next week more of the same.
First time all season I've known where I'm going to be on a Saturday afternoon more than 3 days before the...

Re: [6N] Sco v Fra: Player on ground

I saw the incident and felt sure the ref was advised from the touchline but chose to ignore it. Why I don't know, it was a easy call

    [Assistant Referees] Re: conferring

Sounds very petty especially at L11, you might want to consider wether you want to give up your free time refereeing them again.

    Re: French Red Card

The oddest call for me was just after the red card restart, Scotland set up a ruck, as ball becomes available, a Scottish player is about to join it legallyto try to protect ball/create the ladder...

Re: Where are you this weekend - 2019-20

A nice home town game Furness v Upper Eden and I've managed to convince both teams to kick off at 2.45 so we can all be in the bar to watch the England v Wales game

    [Tackle] Re: YC/RD

good advice from Crossreff but it is never 2 yellow cards for one offence. Of course if you give the yellow then the player gives you verbals which warrant a second yellow, that would be ok.

6 nations on pay per view?

Rumours again of selling out to the highest bidder.
For me it would be a disaster and completely kill interest in the tournament.
Lots of clubs can't afford pay TV so it is disappearing from club...

Re: Where are you this weekend - 2019-20

Unless it was a junior or ladies game, I'd be getting changed in the opposition's changing room.

    Re: Henshaw on May

Borderline late but clearly no arms tackle, for me should have been a penalty. Don't think it was a clear scoring opportunity

[Law] Re: Windy days. What can happen?

    Teams can get creative!
Pitch playable but pointless playing, agree to call it off.
There are some real downsides to all weather pitches!

[Law] Re: Windy days. What can happen?

You will get the classic Forward pass calls when the ball is blown forward after initially being passed back, loud call of play on usually works.
Smart players can get really creative with this and...

Re: New Front Row logic tree

In my area, most teams gamble that a FR replacement won't be necessary.
Everyone wants a competitive scrum and with some empathy from ref and opposition we can usually get a game for at least 60...

[Law] Re: Wales Italy 6N 2020; was Biggar offside?

Why didn't the TMO call it? He clearly picked up the slightest of knock ons in the next clip!

    Re: Six Nations 2020

England were poor however can't believe the TMO didn't look at the scoring pass for the first French try which looked a mile forward.
The second one, Nigel clearly believed it was a French knock on...

Re: Where are you this weekend - 2019-20

Agree Marc, My society assess me once a year to make sure I'm competent, at 60 I'm going nowhere and happy they put the limited resources on the younger guys and use me where required.

[Law] Re: Knock on into the dead ball area.

Not levelling the playing field, as I've said if a team is getting hammered and the result is irrelevant and I've got a decision to make involving a potential safety issue, I'm giving a 22DO all day...

[Law] Re: Knock on into the dead ball area.

There is a way to gain advantage as I've explained but I'd only do it if the team who didn't knock it on were getting hammered in the game and in the scrums.

[Law] Re: Knock on into the dead ball area.

For those of you who want to give a 22DO, I have a way out.
Red knock on into in goal, shout advantage Blue. Blue pick it up, shout advantage over. Blue touch it down. 22 DO. Simples! All...

[Law] Is there a definition of a kicking tee?

Question from my old club as the their ref banned them from using two cones.

Bonus is my old club is also playing there so I'll be able to go on the bus and have a few beers!

[Law] Re: Hand Off or Fend to the face/head/neck

Vovonnne, I've commented on situations like this many times. My advice, trust your instinct. A hand off is a hand off, play on. a hit to the face is a hit to the face and a penalty. And a stern word...

[Law] Re: Uncontested lineout drive/ maul - penalty?
