    Re: New Score Card design

A couple of questions: How do you mark converted vs unconverted tries? Where do you track carding and sin-bin time?

Re: 22 Drop Out - Not taken properly

I had exactly the same yesterday. No drop kick, so I whistled it back again to be taken.

It seems odd that if you can't even do the right thing badly you get another go, but if you can do the...

    Re: Food for thought

Super Rugby tends to appoint local refs for local matches, on a merit-based/cost-saving system. Which naturally brings accusations of bias.

If it's a regional difference thing, local teams...

Yep, same as 22DO tapped over the line, gathered and passed back in.

    Re: women's rugby

Is it an identified problem that needs fixing? Or should WR allocate its finite resources to the shower thoughts that grace various online discussion boards?

Sounds like red player is off his feet and tackling, penalty for blue.

22DO that go dead through in-goal (either).
Box kicks blown back into the 22, taken back in.
Be clear about what is straight at the lineout.

[Tackle] Re: Clearout at the tackle

If you're thinking of top-flight rugby, what the laws say is not a good guide to what's allowed to happen.

There's no law allowing a clear out at the tackle, because the laws forbid or prescribe...

Hilversum 2 - 't Gooi 2 on Sunday, a local derby with a lot to play for at the top of the men's 2e klasse. Both have first teams that are in the top 4 in the country, and their last meeting ended...

[Junior] Re: Role of the captain in schoolboy rugby?

It's definitely age-related as well; at U14 you have more of an adult-child relationship, U17 is generally more equal, and there can be some rocky adolescent years in between. I always offer to give...

Re: New Front Row logic tree

So if you turn up with 15 men, 3 1R qualified, you lose the match with the first injury to one of them? I'm not sure I follow.

    [Law] Re: Theoretical Stalemate

Timewasting is when one team is preventing the other team from competing. That's not this case. They have the ball and are free to use it, play on.

The "trapped" players can always retreat, and...

[Law] Re: Sco v Eng - Scrum back?

Here's an interesting point though. 18.23.b very clearly says option lineout/scrum for not-5 (teammate).

It's often called a "10-point try", but it only seems to pop up once every couple of years. Here's an international example, ARG-RSA:

[Scrum] Re: Scrum to the team 'Going Forward'

Good question. Personally, I'd have given the scrum to white unless they were really clearly driven back in contact at the last phase (as unclear = white as attacking team).

    I see "going forward"...
