  1. [Scrum] Re: New scrum law to be introduced immediately, apparently...

A short bind can be legal. CAN not IS. Pulling down is the problem or, indeed, pushing and driving across. So no YO udon't ping short bind. YOu ping a bind that is not full arm or pullung down a...
  2. [Scrum] Re: New scrum law to be introduced immediately, apparently...

You can bind legal with out a long bind. Any prop will tell and show you how. Long bind expose the prop. They wil lnot be happy if you force then int oan uncomfortable position just to make your life...
  3. [Scrum] Re: New scrum law to be introduced immediately, apparently...

Does not mean it has to be long. Long is what we prefer. A prop can be compliant with a shorter bind.
  4. [Scrum] Re: New scrum law to be introduced immediately, apparently...

    That's ok.
  5. [Scrum] Re: New scrum law to be introduced immediately, apparently...

Please read point number 1 in the memo.

    Law reference?
  6. [Scrum] Re: New scrum law to be introduced immediately, apparently...

Agree basically with the list. Just a question If they have not got long binds: "What action, if any, will you take?"

    Re: "Bring back propper Rucking!"

Thanks OB can you quote Law 26 for me. I'd particlarly like to see what it said before 1986 to see exactly what the law was in Briand's playing days.

    Re: retaken conversion

We will need to agree to differ. For me the time if to allow the preparation for the kick. I think the term is "manage it".

Back to OP I seem no reason, in law, to prevent another player taking...

I'd allow him time as long as he was not just wasting time. The player in question had no intention of making a serious attempt he just did not want a restart. All the conversions up to that point...

Off topic, indeed slightly. Hence my opening sentence. I made it clear to him that "acts contrary to good sportsmanship" were not going to work. His call after that.

[Maul] Re: Is this a forward pass?

    World Rugby differs!

Hand-off: A permitted action, taken by a ball-carrier to fend off an opponent, using the palm
    of the hand.

Nothing to do with the Brits. Take it up with Bret G!
