A team at home at the peak of their fitness well into their season beats a team that has had to travel 12,000 miles for a one off match while still undergoing pre-season training. A hollow victory indeed!!

This "world club challenge" is just a sad joke. The whole concept having one team playing at home in mid-season to the other team from half a world away is deeply flawed. Send your English team out to Australia and play the match on a 30°C Saturday afternoon at Suncorp, and we'll see how you do then!!

    This I agree with.

Awarding a penalty try in a World Cup Final, against Australia, in Australia....now that takes takes balls of steel!!!

"The world's greatest referees are great game managers. They have that unique ability to dynamically analyse any game situation they are faced with, anticipate problems that might occur, formulate effective pre-emptive solutions to these problems, and move swiftly to put these solutions into effect to allow the game to run smoothly for all concerned. However, as any referee will tell you, when you are up to your ass in crocodiles, it can be difficult remind yourself that what you were trying to do was to drain the swamp!"

You're probably not wrong however having sat with my head in my hands as Mal Meninga et al ruined another GB false dawn I'm happy with any win against the Oz.

It used to be in Europe, until that fella from Texas with only one testicle came in and beat the living crap out of everyone for 5 straight years. Now apparently it's just a juice house of doping and high performance cheating, but you never heard the Europeans harp on about it when the Spaniards and Germans were winning!

As I understand it, every Super League winner for the past five years or so has offered to go to Australia for the match, and every opponent has refused to host it.
