Default Aus v Wales - #14 Aus on #15 Wales

How on earth is a tackle at 60 minutes (with arms around ankles) of a player in the air catching the ball NOT a RC offence ? I started at red and went double red, and thren triple red on replay.

Complete cop out by the referee to award just YC.

Now a ridiculous scrum PK decision against Wales.

Why would Jones take down his own out in ? Just look at his body angles and pre-engagement position and compare to the Aussie.

Now convince me Jones was to blame - quite shocking interpretation by the referee.

I agree completely. I just sat back on the sofa thinking this is a RC. When he went to his pocket I said (to the dog, no one else was interested), yep, RC.

I too thought YC was a complete cop out.

Had he just run straight through him, upending him in the process I might have thought YC. But he had hold of his ankle up by his own head.

Not so sure about this one. It was very close and personally I would have reset the scrum. They both ended up on their noses, neither of them turned in, which is usually a guilty giveaway.

However when I watched it again you could see the Red LH hinge downwards at the waist while the Yellow TH was still flat. Red LH had his head below his hips before the rest went down with him.

I have no idea why he would do that, I just know what I saw.......but as I say, it was very close.

Simon, surely you don't really consider "why" a prop would collapse a scrum in making a decision?

Jones flat-out hinged and went straight down, the same thing Aussie props have been pinged off the park for over the last 10 years.

Must say I agree on the RC for taking the man out in the air. Ugly stuff.

I only saw it live and it looked like a reckless YC to me. I'll have a look on the replay. Vuna is not adding much to the team - may see a change for Sydney.

Totally agree Simon my reaction when he gave YC was another referee who has bottled it regarding players safety unlike Alain Roland. I suspect it will be reviewed and made a RC. Not much consolation to Wales who should have been playing against 14 for last 20 mins.

With regards to scrum penalty it was against Jenkins (No 1) for hinging. I would have asked myself which is has been the dominant scrum and agree with Phil E especially as Gold 3 was flat on his belly I would have reset.

Enjoyed the game pity a key referee decision has stopped a decider in Sydney

Can't see how it couldn't have been a RC? Vuna had no interest in th ball.*

The reason he won't be playing in Sydney is because he'll be serving a suspension - surely?

Maybe Brown can't correctly pick who collapses a scrum (and whos put in for a scrum through 90) but glad he can pick who collapses a maul!
