Default Dissertation Review - Boots and Injury

    Hi y'all,

Im currently looking at titles for my Disser for next year, and been told to try and do some initial research, as i'll be getting my own data.

Basically, if anyone has had any ankle/heel injuries can you please just tell me and also what boots you wear and what style of stud they have (Blades, Studs, Moulded Studs, Hybrids)

No matter what the injury, whether that be 'twisted' ankles, plantar fasciitis or anchilles problems... anything is helpful! This is just an initial look into the correlation between boot type and injury!

    Cheers Fellas

I had a lot of problems with sore achillees.
On advice switched to Asics Gel boots, with a gel inner and raised heel.
Was told this would reduce the impact and friction on the heel.
Problem went and has never returned.

Don't know if this was a conincidence or not, but have always used Asics Gel boots since and never had any more foot/heel/lower leg problems.

Was wearing ordinary rugby boots with studs previously.
Asics Lethal Gel have all weather blades.

I'm the same as Phil, and again have moved to Asics, however the boots i wore were the Asics Lethal Gel 8's, which they no longer make, that said i have bought some hockey version, but they're no good now the ground is muddy so have had to resort back to ones with studs.

Oh i also have a additonal gel pad in the heel of my boots

    Wayne

I replaced my Lethal 8's with these Lethal IGS (although I got mine for about £30).
I use them in all weathers and have never had a problem.

Slightly different to an ankle injury, however up until about 18 months ago I had recurrent calf problems using Adidas predators, switched into Asics lethals and not had an issue since

The lethal 11 replaced the Lethal 8 and has exactly the same sole pattern.
The Lethal IGS are the UK replacement for the Lethal 11 (more or less).
There is a black and red version; or a black and gold version.
