    Default Men's 5th place Paris

Watch this from the Paris 7s: http://www.worldrugby.org/sevens-series/video/247797

Just got to see this match. Two questions:

    1. Baker tries to intercept a pass at 2:50 on film time. Dives for the ball with both hands, knocks on and gets 'intentional KO' & a YC. Is that right?
(Never have liked the YC for this offence. Just seems out of balance.)

    2. Pinkleman makes a tackle at 3:40 on film clock. The ball is played back and he picks it up. Can he do that or has the ruck formed before he picks it up?

No attempt to catch the ball, More like a football keeper parrying the ball away. Clear card.

    1. Agree with the card. It was not a credible attempt to catch the ball, two hands or no.
    2. Even if it wasn't a ruck, I am not sure the tackle was over.
He trudg’d along unknowing what he sought,
And whistled as he went, for want of thought.

Deliberate. Cynical. Yellow all day long.

7s is high risk/high reward. He doesn't mess up attacking ball, that pass goes top hand and the USA are looking at points against. That wasn't an attempted intercept, that was killing the ball.
