A grand total of zero of my games occured last weekend. Only avaliable on the Saturday for this one - Preston v Trafford MV on the AGP - should be a fun relegation clash for me to referee and my referee coach to slate me for - almost like what happens when you don't really get to blow a whistle in anger for a month.

    Midlands 1 East

Old Northamptonians -v- Syston this weekend.

Syston top of the League, having only lost 1 game all season, and ONs lying 6th. Last time out Syston were comfortable winners and, whilst we shouldn't pre-judge, can't see anything different this weekend.

This weekend I am reffing two clubs whom I know play in almost identical kit ..
Will the home team have organised a change of kit ?

    I doubt it

When they ring and confirm - tell 'em to sort it.

Yep, that worked well .. they turned up in their usual shirts and after a little discussion turned them inside out

In an ideal world you'd collect your expenses and go straight home but we want a game too so we always muddle through and I think they know we always will.

I got it to work once but only because it was my first L7 and the kits were identical. I ended up sending two off anyway - just imagine the palaver if they'd been dressed the same.

This week I was due to have

    L7 Yorkshire 1

    Heath (Halifax) v York

    4th v top

However due to York's laying waste to all and sundry in the Intermediate Cup they have a Cup game in Lancs/Cheshire/Cumbria somewhere so now I have......

    L9 Yorkshire 3

    Wensleydale v Harrogate Pythons

3rd v 9th at one of the most picturesque grounds in the county - just out of Leyburn at t' bottom o' t'dale.

    Real Wicker Man Country.

    No.

Now off to Hull as opposed to the Yorkshire Dales.

    L7 Yorkshire 1

Hullensians v Old Brodleians (Halifax - yes another one).

TV fans will remember Hullensians was the venue for my Live Stream Match in November.

Both teams play in red/black/white hoop affairs so we'll see if my advice to crossref is heeded.
