Done until March-ish: other obligations tomorrow and the next two weekends, and no rugby in the vicinity until around St. Pat's Day.

There is talk of an indoor 7s league, but I'm not driving 6-8 hours in cold and snow, and I love 7s.
    Rules of thumb, YMMV:
At any given point, half of the people in attendance will question a call.
At some point during the game, every spectator will think/say that he/she can perform your role better.
Referees who play are among the worst players to referee for.

Well I made a fool of myself. Doing a lovely Level 10 game - Chorley 1s v Trafford Metrovick 2s - all going well. Felt a bit sluggish but I hadn't really slept the night before (and new girlfriend is Veggie so diet change isn't really suiting me)

65 minutes in - I try to change direction, my left foot disagrees and stays stuck. I slip, my and land on my ankle, and then shout in agony.

Try to carry on, then last another 5 minutes and can't run - strapped up and probably gonna miss the weeks' action with a sprained ankle.

Chorley has a prop who's done his ELRA - I say - if both sides are happy then go for it, and they play on for a final ten minutes of fun and games.

Afterwards both sides in the bar were very good to chat to - not alot of sides bother sticking around anymore so it was good to have both sides stay and have a few beers (or lime sodas for me).

After one 4-match week (Wed as AR, Fri U18 7s Tournament, Sat & Sun) just gone, another 4-match week forthcoming (Wed Schools, Fri U15, Sat & Sun both adult) - sorry, 5-match as I'll be turning out without a whistle on Wed night. One further match the following Wed and then my mid-winter break in Scandinavia and the Alps until mid-Feb. By then it will have been 23 appointments and £500 travelling expenses since mid-Aug, including a 3-week post-medical op break in Sep. Semi-retirement isn't all bad!
Be reasonable - do it my way.

This weekend I have East Mids 1 (L6) fixture:

    Bugbrooke -v- Old Northamptonians.

Bugbrooke are 11th and ONs are 6th. To use NFL parlance Bugbrooke are 9-3 and ONs are 9-5 but have lost their last 4 games - albeit against top of the League opposition.

Next week I have got Bedfordshire Cup Match:

    Bedford Swifts -v- Leighton Buzzard

I'll wait until next week to dig out the competition regulations.

This weekend I shall be at Doncaster Racecourse trying to recoup my losses from the St Leger meeting.

And now the home team want to change the kick-off time to 13:00 because of the England game?!

That means missing paying my respects at the local War Memorial so No I am not going to accede to their request
