Default Rugby Laws to become Clearer

Even without seeing it yet, all I have to say is, "Finally!"

I am going to be optimistic that the large majority of issues and questions we have toiled over on this forum will be resolved, and we won't have to debate the minutia of every law to get a clear answer.

I'm all for simplifying but what are they going to be leaving out? Forgive me, but I'm getting a bit twitchy?

Is the lawbook REALLY that bad anyway? Personally, I would make it longer by adding in more examples of the relevant law in action. Eg

    14.2 Players on their feet
    (a) Falling over the player on the ground with the ball. A player must not intentionally fall on or over a player with the ball who is lying on the ground.
    Sanction: Penalty kick

NOTE: This does NOT mean an opponent must let up a player with the ball who is lying on the ground.

There already gaps in the book. Shortening and simplifying is unlikely to help that.

I read the article, and I was filled with foreboding. This will not end well - mark my words!

So the current law book was actually written by a 10.6yr old, not a 12 Yr old as we thought...

at the risk of sounding glass half-empty - I have to agree with SS.

And we thought the leggings thread was long. Wait for the "simplified law book" thread!

As much as I enjoy disagreeing with Simon, nothing could be more accurate than his prediction.

This was announced a while ago. Don't you think it is time that referees saw the proposed new law book. That is if is it coming in so soon?
