    Default Tackle only .

Do others find , that tackle only ( as in 1 man ruck not formed ) .
Is being reffed / played as ruck laws by players & refs .

    What i mean is
    Red 7 tackles blue 7 .
Blue 7 hits deck & places ball back for next blue support player .

Red 7 has rolled away ..

If blue support player comes in & picks up ball .
He can now be tackled , through gate only

But if he picks ball up ,,and passes to a team mate .( and not stepped over ball 1st , to create a ruck )

If a red player is blue side of tackle , and is more than 1 meter away .
He can now infact either intercept ball , or even tackle red player who catches ball

However , im still seeing players , running to get on side , as if a ruck has formed
Where as in laws ,,it hasnt ..

Yes, and this has been happening for many years.

When I ask players about it, I get one of two answers

    1. they aren't sure if the referee considers a ruck to be formed, so they don't want to risk being penalised.
    2. they don't want to be caught offside (in no man's land) if another player arrives to form a ruck.

there is a kind of unwritten rule that if the ref is silent then it is a ruck. If the ref calls "tackle only" he is giving licence for players to not need to observe an offside line
I, for one, like Roman numerals
