    ENDING A RUCK
    17. When the ball has been clearly won by a team at the ruck, and is available to be played, the referee calls “use it”, after which the ball must be played away from the ruck within five seconds. Sanction: Scrum.
    18. The ruck ends and play continues when the ball leaves the ruck or when the ball in the
ruck is on or over the goal line.
    19. The ruck ends when the ball becomes unplayable. If the referee decides that the ball will probably not emerge within a reasonable time, a scrum is awarded.

With regard to the highlighted scrum, how do we know who gets the feed?
Same as before I would have thought. Unplayable - side going forward being one of the options.

Law 17. New picture now makes it clear that you can call a mark with both legs straight, both legs bent, or one of each. Used to keep me awake at nights ...

And there’s me thinking that players without ponytails had to keep both feet on the floor.

It's covered in Law 19 (the scrum). Certainly easier IF they had put the saction in the section you have quoted.

Failure to “use it” at scrum,
    ruck or maul.
In the scrum zone at the
    point closest to where the
    scrum, ruck or maul took
    place.
    The team not in
    possession.

I have no doubt you are correct but shouldn't the new law book contain that?
