Carolina Panthers are being investigated- third investigation this season.

The Savage case mentioned in the article was a case of the medics not having access to the correct video until after ruling the player fit and sending them back - sound familiar.

Still a massive problem in the NFL, mainly driven by a lax disciplinary regime to impacts to the head. Players are rarely ejected for deliberate, illegal hits, and the nature of the 'tackling' encourages big hits, not wrap, leading with the shoulder which often impacts the head area. This could be easily sorted through a tweak of the impact rules, proper penalising of dangerous play, and harsher sanctions. Problem is there is no appetite to do this by the administrators to the problem will persist.

If insurance became an obligation for all professional players, then insurance companies would oblige the NFL to shape up or ship out.

But as you said, right now there is little enthusiasm to tackle the problem.
Perhaps a players Union, might take up the safety issue?
