Clear as mud to me I don't know what the fuss is about

    1. Attacking player forms a mono ruck. Ruck remains uncontested. Next arriving player from his side picks it up, assuming it is set and available.

    2. Defending player arrives first and doesn't jackal, forming a mono ruck, although I know not why he would choose not to jackal as his initial option, more likely tackled player's side would seek to counter ruck rather than give up possession cheaply.

Arriving player if from same side as standing player forming the "monoruck" can pick up the ball as long as he is alongside his teammate.

Arriving player if oppositon to the "monoruck" former cannot pick up the ball as a proper ruck has been formed. he then has to drive the other player off the ball and for a team mate of his to pick up behind him.
