    3. One-minute scrums – One minute from time of mark to completion. This puts the onus on players to keep the scrum up and encourages quick decision making to allow play to continue.
and if they are not completed in one minute?

    4. Faster Line Outs – lineouts will be taken as soon as the throwing team is ready – they do not have to wait for their opponent or the referee.
    Like they can currently then?

This isn;t to shoot the idea down or appear negative. They can do what they want frankly. I'm just asking some obvious questions. (obvious to me anyway!)

Hopefully they will publish a Law Book and I can make a table of differences

The child in me loves the power try idea, and the flashing lights !

I like the faster lineout thing. This removes the restrictions on a quick throw that are there today : Same ball, nobody else touches the ball etc.

The sad part is that it means I wont have those little "moments" to get my breath back. Funnily, I'm starting to need those more and more :-)

The suggestion doesn't mention QTIs - for all we know they want the same restrictions. It most specifically mentions lineouts and not QTIs. I can't see what stops such an action already. You learned cahps amy well know of a reason

I wonder who controls the lights indicating that the power try is on .. it needs to be a proper match official. Would the TMO do it ? Or is it an additional official . There will be times when determining whether possession was continual is quite tricky, and it has to be done in real time to display the right coloured lights

Well this is the brilliant bit: a penalty against whoever the referee thinks took too long.

So you won't get 10 minutes of teams opting for scrums instead of penalties, you see?

I'm not sure I remember such *ahem* imaginative changes before.

The Power try has been trialled at Varsity Level in South Africa for the last season. 5 points for a normal try, 7 points for a try originating between your own 22m line and the halfway line and 9 points for a try originating in your own 22m. Plus usual 2 points for conversion.
