    Which knows what they intended, but traps there are nevertheless. .. which is why the ref interrupted to intervene to warn them when it looked like they might fall into one

    This is a good point. This season, at the first couple of scrums in each game, I reminded SHs not to wait for me to tell them to put the ball in. I certainly wouldn't have pinged them for time wasting. Next season I expect that it will be second nature for them.
